Why do many people think Wheater isnt capable of playing every game if fit?

He's 31

He did his cruciate a few seasons ago but he's hardly Paul McGrath

He played 43 games in league one, he's no crock

I was mainly going off last week when he was our best player against Forest but only sub against Hull & the general opinion that he can't play 2 or 3 games a week, rather than any actual evidence.

I wouldn't use selection as a reflection of whether they are able to play or not at the minute

He was ok in league one, unless it was genuinely physically easier

I’d imagine League One stretched him a lot less. He’s a good player, he’d have strolled through a lot of those games. In the Championship he has to defend a lot more and the players he’s up against are quicker and cleverer. He’s our best defender so I don’t think Parky will be leaving him out for the craic, despite what folk will say about bingo machines.

We need Williams to step it up and do the same job on Grealish that he did on Pearson at Deepdale. Grealish is a horrible little prick but he's a good player, the only one who turned up at the Reebok last season for them. We have to show the balls that we had against Derby, not the wank that we've had since then. Mad 1-1 draw...

He has a back problem that means he struggles with back to back games. If he aggravates it he's out for longer.

He’s over that issue.

As confirmed by the number of appearances over the last 2 seasons.

He’s just run out of luck with the bingo machine

Nope its an issue that he's never over. Its just they've managed it well and kept him fitter. But he needs a longer recovery.

Starts in last three full seasons: 26-43-32

came across this from the league one season:

https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/14917372.injury-issues-are-back-for-wanderers-star-wheater/

surprised he still managed 43 games regardless of how easier league one might be

he managed 3 games in week once this season so it can be done, but hasn't done 3 in a row any other time we've had a midweek game, so looks like he is rested, the fanny
