A pint of Boddies in the Halfway House in Farnworth.

Who remembers Oranjeboom?

Oranjeboom , sold in the Amsterdam Bar Horwich and The Vulcan on Junction Road. Bloody awful. Only surpassed by Stones Bitter ( always gave me a banging head). from.the Aquarius Club .

What a fine establishment that was.

Bolty loved it.

:D He fiucking didn't and he still doesn't. I have an intense dislike for most things Queensland and definitely its fucking ale.

Of the 'regular' beers, I reckon Victoria's Carlton Draught is the best down here. We have some right shite over here including Emu Export and Swan Draught. Fucking paint stripper.

Colt 45 in a pub in Torquay 74.

Now you're talking. I could only ever find that on tap in the South West apart from a short term trial in Blackpool where I got so pissed off it that I nearly lost an eye being jumped by tangerine twats near Bloomfield Road. Didn't feel a thing at the time - completely anaesthetised.

Breaker was also a good drop but loved Colt 45.

Me and that fucking advertising tune!

Could never get the fucker out of my head at the time and I've just inflicted it upon myself again!

Don't think I've ever seen superbock on draught

Maybe nando's at middlebrook would do it if there was one

I get my bottles from Makro or asda

Aye. I meant beers I’ve had when away.

Hoegarden was lovely. Hardly see it anywhere nowadays.

Went through a phase of having just that on nights out, trying to look cultured like, but it didn't half result in some horror shites the day after.

One from down here that isn't missed apparently is "shitty" Shipstones, guaranteed marmite stripes after a session on that, I'm told.

One I miss was the cru...asda did it, but alas, no more

Kronbourg blanc was a short lived one....Brunswick near piccadilly did that on draught

Had a pint of Hoegarden in Sheffield in the late 90s

Think even back then it was over £4 a pint so I made sure the glass went home with me

They used to do both in Harvey’s just off Nelson sq, been a long time since I’ve been in there so I’d guess they’re no longer

Kronenbourg and Hoegarden I mean

Not widespread per se, but quite a few places sold it. Just don't see it anywhere now - probably due to the cost of replacing all glasses that everyone nicked.

Or maybe white beer was just a fad, along with ice beer.

Caffrey's caused me some absolute write offs in the 90's.

Before they weakened the strength of it, it wasn't bad for a "smooth" type beer.

Beers are so much better these days, but Burtonwood Dark Mild was ok
