I think that says I’m ok to work?

I would say you have to until someone explicitly says you can’t mate. As a self employed businessman I think it’s pretty essential you work until they provide some form of subsistence payments to allow you not to work

BBC saying that only people on the essential workers list should travel.

it was a reporter not written down.

‘to and from essential work’ is how it is phrased on BBC website.

I'm guessing we will shut our shop but keep the warehouse and customer service open because the vast majority of the business is online and I'd guess the couriers will still be picking up. It's a right balls up this.

Out of interest, what happens there. So some staff work  normal hours get full pay, some staff don’t work stay at home and get 80%?

It isn't that that only essential work is allowed, but travelling to work has to be essential to you - ie you can't work from home.

That's the way i read it anyway.

Clear as mud.

Thats exactly what he said and i suspect, what he meant

I can work from home.

I deal with the IT for food distribution.

I need some equipment from the office taking home so I then WFH.

Am I allowed to go and pick it up ?

Of course

There’s so many that people wouldn’t think of. I know of at least 20 people at BOC gasses who are all essential workers from mechanics, office staff and lads on the floor

I had a maintenance guy in today

They are working from home

They work on food plants, so key/essential workers

Yes

Say you have young kids and you have to stay home now, so you’ll save on childcare and get 80% of your wage, you could be financially better off staying at home
