It was mentioned/intimated on the radio the other week, that due to her connections in government she helped Cheltenham not get cancelled this year  - when I think we'd all agree it probably should have been

Did the radio associate her with the liverpool-madrid match going ahead as well?

Not sure the horse racing industry is short of connections in government. The MP for Newmarket being one.

no, but then again I don't think she has any involvement with Liverpool FC, but she is on the board of the Jockey Club who run Cheltenham, which is probably where they came up with it

In fairness, the Government fucked up in letting both events go ahead, no matter if she was involved or not really

That was my point. Chris whitby before the select committee a day or two back still explaining that he felt decisions made were the correct ones.

I doubt dido's presence had much of an effect.

Look at this! Kids home schooling as they make stuff on the kitchen table complete with an half-full ashtray! You can't buy class!

I've not read the article, as I won't click on their website with my work laptop (as mentioned yesterday) - but I'm assuming they've probably picked on a single parent family who are relatively poor, thus making her look like a really bad mother....unless there is also a massive 50" telly on the screen and the kids are fat knackers wolfing down Big Macs 😀

Interesting comments, once again

QuoteI'm not happy about the ashtray in that picture and the kids still wearing their PJs, somebody needs a word with the parents. I was lucky, I went to BCGS, a quality education with some posh handsome boys. Coming from Tonge Fold, it was a real privilege for me to go to such a good school, and it paved the way for me to be who I am now, educated and openly gay. Had I not had the good education, then I'm sure I'd have had a bad job, and had to still pretend I was straight.

EDIT

it's also important to include the sentence that follows this picture:

Coronavirus poses a high risk to her health due to obesity and severe asthma so her kids have been home-schooled and not left the house since February.

I'm pretty certain that my asthma is due to people smoking when I was a child. I'm not sneering at anyone but having an ashtray around like that on the table and one assumes smoking in the same room as the kids is fucking appalling. That whoever took the photo didn't shift it is either a stitch up or it was taken by the people themselves (as you aren't going to let a photographer in anyway) and they don't see anything wrong with it?

So confusion reins yet again

group of people in Carlisle have all tested positive and all visited a series of pubs in the town at some point on a given day.

Anyone that’s been in either of the pubs on those days Are being told to organize a test immediately. Which is completely against what the websites say should happen. They should isolate and get a test if symptoms only.

They wonder why folk don’t know if they are coming or going 4/10
