Will the Johnstone's paint efl trophy bollocks be fucked off next season?

I think it will depend on when the season restarts. Manage to get going and there will be space to accommodate for it. FA need the income from a Wembley final, and it’s a good earner for sides who do well in it. Plus it’s built in to the TV deal so Sky might give with one hand and take away with the other if they’re not given their pound of flesh (same goes with the League Cup on that front).

Taking European qualification away won’t do it any favours

Then again, I think FA Cup winners should get into the CL, at least they have won something, 4th place can fuck off for me

Wigan would have been in champions league and championship.

Which is a good reason not to have the Cup winners in the CL

Has the second division been scrapped

Ie Wigan survived on the back of a fluke win at west Brom, or is it being played out?

Being played, so still time for them to drop.

QPR chairman been vocal that it’s a race to the bottom of the respected bank accounts in the Championship

god knows how they are meant to survive without gate receipts

At least League 1 and 2 clubs can shed players this month (in most cases) then sit tight with a skeleton squad

Talking of Wigan, read on article yesterday which suggests their new owners are funding the takeover on the back of some pretty high interest loans. If they don’t keep flogging players for hefty profits, they will soon be up creek and not before time

I was wondering this morning how Macclesfield are going to provide evidence requested by the EFL that they can complete next season.  Nobody knows yet when it's going to start or if fans will be allowed in.  It'll be hard to make a business case based on guesswork

I was thinking that too.  Their ground holds 6,350 of which 2,600 seated.  I'm guessing no standing on terraces in the foreseeable, and at best we're talking every other seat to be occupied?  So about 1,300 capacity, probably just about enough for their S/T fan base but no away fans.  God knows how they are supposed to survive and have a business plan for next season.

People are trusted to stand within a certain marked space when queuing outside a supermarket, so no reason why they can’t on a terrace.

I've never stood in a supermarket queue completely pissed or having just witnessed Faal score his 21st goal of the season to give us a last minute win 😀 Last couple of days I've really come round to the idea that in home ends at least there will be no distancing.

Aways might be different. Barrow for example though, say theres no away fans allowed come September would you consider going there anyway on piss? I know a few who would, police might see it as a safer proposition to herd people into grounds!

After the Sol Campbell rumour this morning, that bit of good news as proper pepped me up 😁

I’ll eat hay with a donkey is Sol is our next manager. If we have to interview a BAME, then I’d want it to be Powell or Reid who are at least maybe material. Sol is an out and out no

Powell not done too bad overall, can't see him being interesting in us tbh.

Would be a worthy candidate, though not necessarily someone I would see as a first choice.

Intrigued as to when an appointment will be made.

If you can sit on a train for 90 minutes then you can stand on an open terrace for 90 minutes.

Looks like we could have a game changer en route anyway....

Are you sure about Powell?  Did well at Charlton many years ago.  Since then got sacked by Huddersfield after doing nothing, and was a disaster at Southend, went 11 games without a win and got sacked.  Of all the names mentioned, he is top of the list of disastrous, uninspiring, unambitious options.  Another in the list of "managers" that arent managers, he's an assistant, there's a huge difference.

Be absolutely no problem come September

Presumably decisions will have to be taken the day season tickets are put on sale, let's say one month before the season is due to start.  Only the most committed of us would sign upto paying £400 for a seat that could be in any stand, not necessarily sat with mates, or for games we arent sure if we'll be allowed into.
