No Prem team that wins it can seriously put it on their honours list (apart from Newcastle). And when the final's played it wont even be the biggest game of the afternoon. Just sack it off and give everyone longer to play their league games in a shortened season. Quote

Once clubs are exempt from entering then that’ll be that. Worth mentioning though that the League Cup in Scotland still retains relative prestige despite the lack of a European spot. Works quite well with the group stage replacing pre-season friendlies and having the final before Christmas. Quote
