No not looking for an argument, simply explaining why I thought from what you previously posted, what I did.

If you bothered to read my post I went on to accept fully what you had told me, thanked you for it and commended you for the work you did in your local community.

That was the whole point I was making - that no academy is perfect on these things.

Although, looking at Ramsdale he was sold to Bournemouth from Sheff Utd for 'only' £800K. You need them to break through AND not to be languishing in a lower division and struggling financially.

The major question for me now is whether FV and the Swiss contingent have the resources to support us at Championship level or look to sell us on to owners with deeper pockets. We were struggling and having to be majorly baled out recently in L1 and even though we’re getting more income in the Championship the costs and wages will be much higher. Time will tell but I think Sharon and co may well want out rather than subsidise us only to relegation again.

They've already committed to next year, so no particular rush. Either way, the club is much more marketable now.

Can't imagine fixed costs changing much, wages can be controlled.  I'd rather us rely on loans till we establish ourselves.

Does the club host as many events as it used to, to generate extra income?

I don't know, but it just feels like we don’t. 

So far, FV have managed to bring in extra investment, and done it very well, but in doing so, we're no where near the sustainable model Sharon spoke about after the takeover. 

Presumably, we will be able to increase season ticket prices a little next time, if we stay up, and crowds will be a bit bigger.

Nevertheless, 4 fewer home games loses some gate receipts from none sts. 

How do we increase revenue (profit actually) to allow us to be sustainable, particularly if we need to increase wages etc?

Going to have to produce some players and sell for decent money. 

Or continue to look for outside investment, and hope that whoever supercedes FV is as diligent and responsible.

Presume the Cat 2 Academy Status is all systems go. That will swallow a couple of million in the first year, but it’s important. We also desperately need to improve the training facilities too. They are sub standard for a club with ambition.

The rumour is they want to move from Lostock and make Bolton Academy the base.
