Injuries

Well let’s hope none of this is true because if it is it probably won't just be those two players who are affected by the atmosphere it can create. Both are key players in our final few games and having them back would be a massive boost.

Doesn't sound that random or out there to me, imagine it's fairly common.

Bolton staff say he's good to crack on medically, but Baxter still doesn't feel right, Evatt feels like that's a cop out or is soft, they fall out over it.

I wouldn't be surprised by that given Baxter's injury history or given Evatt's personality.

Obvious question- why would he cop out?

It's in his own interests to play, so even if it's true that he doesn't feel its quite right, it makes no sense to go soft.

The week before last Evatt said Baxter was having his splint removed on the 15th and seeing the specialist on Monday 18th.

Either that specialist has given the green light to play or not. Shouldn’t the club and the player abide by that specialists advice.

His own or Evatt's?

His own. Apparently one of them hit Maghoma and set his hair on fire, and it took every single bottle of Gatorade at the training ground to put it out. Evatt was fuming.

Not in his own interests if he feels playing would do more long term damage, I suppose.

Seems like he did that when he first got the injury and now we're nearly 8 weeks later and he's still out.

But, it all has come from some ill-punctuated facebook post, so also more than likely nonsense and he's just not been cleared officially yet.

I don't particulary believe these rumours to be true

but when he first got injured, didn't he decide to crack and play the next game, before realising he shouldn't have?

am sure it was something like that

if so, he wouldn't want to risk it again until he feels 100% happy he's ok

Hearing Evatt has fallen out with Thomason for sticking lit fireworks down his underpants in training.

More believable that Thomason has fallen out with Evatt as he stuck fireworks down his gruds

yes, they thought he could play through it after an initial scan

its tricky for the club, i know they genuinely thought it was a 4 week job but if its now season ending, you dont want to scream it from the rooftops but saying nowt opens it up for the cranks

Precisely.

He will be the one to best judge how it feels, and won't actually want to miss out for obvious reasons.

That's why I find it hard to believe he would cop out, so the argument bit doesn't make sense.

Medics hide.

They'll say if it's an absolute "no' but otherwise they rarely commit to something. It'll be a 'depends on how the player feels. His body & he knows how he is'.

Oddly, didn't Baxter take longer to recover from an injury at Hull than the club were expecting ?

Maybe goes back to playing on with it initially.

Then, iirc, he played the next game too.

One of those was the rain abandoned one, so only got a few minutes.

Obviously Evatt would be pissed as he'd HAVE to have a keeper on the bench.

they scanned him and decided he could play through it on the mon/tues

he played the 10 mins at cambridge on tues

that was it

apart from a ropey goal kick i dont think he touched it

I’d assume the warm up was more dangerous. Ie having balls fired at him etc

just get this in before one of the usual pricks does - i doubt he would have had anything to save, mind

This is absolute bollocks.

They use BodyFuel not Gatorade

Aye, I can see that. I suppose Baxter has to think of the long term.

As an aside, apparently Nixon has tweeted that Baxter could be back in the squad this Friday. I’ll wait until Evatt says something but if he doesn’t we’ll know on Friday.
