If any comment typifies what we’re about it’s this one

lovely weather a nice pitch and we’re a match for anyone..

I read that before, and I think he's right. However, we're in the 3rd division, and pitches are going to suffer in winter.

We have to be able to cope, and modify accordingly and for the most part we have this season.

Not sure the squad will look much different- three long term lads out, and I'd be surprised to see any of them back before the end of the season.

anyway, its another were folk are pretty well entrenched so no point arguing

is it fuck

I'm 100% behind him

he just needs curtail his emotions sometimes publicly

gets a lot of red cards, got involved on the pitch at wigan, criticial of them celebrating on the pitch, now comes across like he's emotionally drained, is trying his best but will have a think about what happens next in the summer

right now we need strong leadership, but like the team, he's showing his soft underbelly that can be exploited

Absolutely imperative we go up this season.

Think he'll get an offer from championship club if we don't.

Will undo all the good hard work of the last few years.

Wish he keep quiet sometimes but appreciate he gets put on the spot.

To be clear I’m not condoning anything as right more that it’s a problem I’d rather we didn’t have.

I'm not sure it's wise, but hopefully it's a bit of a masked rallying call.

Support me or I may be off, regardless of whether he is or isn't Should certainly get the crowd onside in the short term, which is all that matters at the moment.

But is he that canny, or just emotional??

Don't make an habit of getting your tummies tickled against local rivals and we'll all have better weeks.

That's it.

Weeks like that take it out of you more than anything.

@Casinodont mistake apathetic disappointments from times past to fully invested anger at being beaten by two local rivals who hate us the most in the matter of days.

Chuck two distraught kids in to the mixer as well.

Easily up there with Stoke and Black Sunday for me those two games.

i dont think the saturday comments are that at all

its just a bloke saying more than he should while under pressure

i'm fairly sure the shit coleman and family have been getting hurts him though

more than a couple of defeats, which in the scheme of it mean fuck all

I did media training, best advice ever.....'say the second thing that comes into your head' .

I think this is it

If the criticism is giving Evatt pause for thought about continuing the job here next season, that's sad, but I do think he might need to develop a thicker skin

What is this shit Coleman has been getting then?

Surely not from match going fans?

Certainly from the twatterati. Whether they attend games or not isn’t important, is it?

I get that the whole defence has been poor since Baxter’s (unnecessary) injury but Coleman seems to be getting a greater share of the abuse.

As a former member of the goalkeepers Union, twas ever thus, ie you're the one letting the goals in 🙄🤣.

Thought the lad got a great hand from the fans when he came to his goal before the start.

Hope he knows the vast majority of us are with him.

Evatt has built a foundation, philosophy & has (along with everybody involved in the club) made us attractive again after having our reputation tarnished to near unrepairable measures so he'll have my backing for a good while. That being said it's not unfair to question some of his methods when they repeatedly get exposed when any sort of pressures on... read something along the lines that Evatt has just over a 20% win percentage against top 8 sides then add in the local derbies what get built up whether it's Tranmere/Stockport/Wigan ect then it looks doomed. Evatt always says how football is "reactionary & emotional" which is 100% true which is why he shouldn't take everything he sees to heart, every football manager is under pressure I mean I feel sorry for the poor bastards who get rolled out at Sunderland season on season every single one is usually on a highway to nothing.

Yet more evidence of mental fragility from Evatt.

It's no wonder his squad capitulates in games that matter is it.

Barnsley is massive and this isn't the way to get the players and fans collectively up for it.

I don't often get wound up by football but last week was different. If i had a wife or cat I'd have considered twatting them.

Anyone not think this is maybe his way of taking the heat off the players a little?

Most of the talk now has been about people interpreting his comments, gives the players a little breathing space for tomorrow?

Honestly? No. Hopefully it works that way though.

Been thinking about this for a couple of hours now.

All this twatter shit- no doubt some is our own fans posting after class As, ale and emotion, and not welcome, but I also wonder how much is trolling by fans of other clubs?

If it is the sort of thing that has riled him, then they're winning.

Fwiw, I also think he had a touch of ego damage which may have rocked him and his devout belief in his way of playing. We weren't great in either game obviously, but were stuffed by our own weaknesses as much as by what the opponent did, and I wonder if that has hurt him as he feels the players should have been able to do better.

Whatever the case, maybe not everything is rosy, but the players and staff need go get together, sound a rallying cry to all (and tell the trolls to get fucked if needs be) and go and do the business.

Any criticism is simple, we lose the big games.

We know we have good players ... better ones than most others, but we also know we're a soft touch to the harder type outfits.

Also, we keep possession but are often too ponderous in switching it into an attack.

He gets great support from fans, media and the Board. He has to be less thin skinned.

If I was a professional footballer or manager Id be steering as far away from social media as humanly possible.

Its just not a true reflection of our support. You've got utter cunts like Craig North thinking he has some kind of sway with his 24 followers.

Twitter is a complete cesspit of society and has no place in the real world.

The only support the club and players should be focusing on is match going fans who have been fucking unbelievable all season. Every away near enough sell outs and over 20k at home is now the norm.

Ian Evatts name has been sung everywhere all season too.

Everyone is behind him but you cant moan when theres a meltdown after 2 of the shittest results in recent times. Hordes of fans stood there having the piss taken out of them two games running. Hardly the basis of a well balanced view on the way things are going.

Stay off fucking twitter and have a glance over to our sold out away ends singing your name every week and think how much youve been backed throughout.

There was quite a lot of 'negative feedback' from fans after the Wigan game and some of the abuse at Blackpool was IMO OTT.

The abuse of Coleman has been embarrassing. He did fuck up for the penalty at Blackpool but had made a great save start of second half to keep it at 2-1. at Wigan another great save just after they scored.

Evatts statement is ill thought out and really does not help. Why not say 'After a tough week we have bounced back with a great performance and as a group we know there more great performances to come.'

I think too much emphasis is placed on "when we get the injured players back", there's as much chance of us getting another injury/suspension as others clearing up.  As seen recently, 2 more players out for the season in 3 games (Taylor, CMG).  We've been unlucky of course, but we seem to have been saying for months "wait till we get those back" and it just becomes a different set of players that are unavailable for whatever reason.  As long as we have enough we just have to get on with it and if the squad gets stronger its a bonus.  We have a huge squad, I remember watching Phil Brown and Mark Came playing centre forward to cover for injuries!

Footballs a game of opinions, just beat Barnsley tomorrow night and we’re back on track and heading up. Lose or even draw and the malaise goes on. We just have to start beating teams like Barnsley and I know that’s not easy but we just have to find a way. I’m afraid if IE can’t do that he won’t get us back in the Championship so as much as I respect and admire the job he’s done it’s not far enough I’m afraid with the backing he’s had.
