As long as my taxation stays the same so I can have the same quality of life and I can go about my life as I do now I’m not arsed who’s at the head of the table other than Corbyn of course. But if that person then winds folk up so much that they are frothing at the gills then it Gives me additional value for free.

But Covid is your back up there. Anyone who thinks Johnson has done a good job (when he’s bothered to turn up) is definitely in need of a stiff drink. But again the alternative was corbyn led labour. Anyone that thinks they would have done a better job doesn’t need a drink but sectioning. Fair enough I don't think Corbyn would do better, it's not even a point of view worth entertaining, but you see videos like that and it's disheartening that this is the best we've got And next up they get to lead us into a post Brexit and Covid world As I said, it's all exciting, just wished I'd voted for them so i could laugh with you

Of course I would like a strong government but these are the best of a bad bunch for me. Said that all along. So we have the best from the Available options at that time. Can’t see why we would want anybody worse at the helm. It’s a shame that all across the world governments in many major developed nations appear to be substandard. That’s modern day politics for you. the fact that they irritate people so much is just a byproduct. No matter what it is they do it’s wrong. It’s those people that think like this I get pleasure out of listening to whine. but it still stands we would be in a much worse state with any of the others that were an option on the ballot paper , in my opinion. Maybe, but seems pointless to me to compare to how another govt in this country may or may not have done when there's loads of other govts out there already dealing with the same issues Some doing better, some doing worse Imo, obvs

We are too soft simple as that. But our problem is, to me, we haven’t been decisive enough or hard enough. We should have been and then we could have been working to come out of this sooner. but even now we’ve got no seeming desire to come down hard on those that need it for the benefit of the wider population. Still cunts ignoring the rules going doing what the fuck they want. we must have more cunts per million in this country than anywhere else other than the US surely. That should be the key comparison we take from this.
Morizio
Maybe they’ve always been substandard governances but nowadays information is shared more freely, readily and openly. FOIA, SAR’s. What would they have revealed years ago?

Ghana White
During the last Iraq war I laughed at the iraq minister of information, he would fit in perfectly with this cabinet inept, arrogant and deceitful. We'd be the laughing stock if wasnt so tragic. History will not look kindly on us so far. I just keep hoping some miracle happens and they turn it around

As I said earlier in the thread, it'll be interesting to see how the tide will turn when the tax rises come, because they are coming at some point. For what it's worth, I'm glad it's not Corbyn leading us through this, I dread to think what might have happened if he was in power, I suspect even more money freely given out and furlough lasting for several months more - I just wish it was somebody else heading up the Tory party, rather than Johnson, who I just can't warm to at all

I actually thought the governments handling was pretty decent early on. I still don't think it's been catastrophic - but there seems to have been a distinct lack of leadership. I guarantee you that the narrative in the press around the blank cheques we're writing would have been very different had it been JC in charge now. I can imagine the 'plunging Britain into the financial abyss' comments in the press. As well as the 'socialists spending other peoples money' tropes on here. And if he'd have handled someone like John O'Donnell going on a Dominic Cummings style jaunt the way Boris did.......

Perhaps if we were at war, sections of the population would behave more responsibly. We would also be in a more strictly controlled society which we should have had earlier. Hungarian grand prix just gone. Apparently, if anyone from those involved had strayed from the bio secure area, they faced a €50,000 fine and possible imprisonment. Might have made Jofra think again... Also remember, if JC was in power, and had done as the current lot have done, then he would have probably died from his bout of virus.
