  1. Trying to play Pep ball knee deep in a lake at Plymouth was a particular highlight

I remember going on the stadium tour before the start of the 98/99 season. The players actually had their training session on the pitch that day, so my brother and I were ball boys for it. We got pictures and autographs with Mark Fish, Gardner, Bob Taylor, Neil Cox, Branagan, Holdsworth and several others. It was an absolutely brilliant day. We even ended up playing head tennis in the changing rooms. Something like that for a 12 year old just helped to prove why BWFC is MY club. My Dad asked the tour guide (an older fella called Tom), "is Nat around?" as the great man was my Grandad's all-time hero and Mr Lofthouse actually left a meeting to come out and meet my Grandad and take a picture with him. What a legend. I still have the picture framed at home.
  3. For the last 4 years solid, I've covered North East Manchester for the firm I work for, covering a handful of areas. Other than the British population, the diversity is quite interesting, with not much trouble between the different religions etc Blackley and Moston have seen hell of a lot of African Christians settling there Cheetham Hill is already well referenced with a significant Muslim population, it's neighbour Crumpsall is seeing a significant rise too Harpurhey is quite a mix of varying religions with little trouble between each other Newton Heath is similar, likewise with Monsall and now Collyhurst, though the huge amount of funds being spent in Collyhurst's regeneration may just see an altogether different clientele. The biggest rats to be honest are the local smackheads and the bell ends on the e bikes, who were still wearing balaclavas today when it was roasting. Quite amusingly, a lovely bible basher originally from the Congo, threatened to shoot a few of them whilst we were working on her home the other year New Moston seems to be the least affected area which I cover, though it recently had the sad death of a teenager who was stabbed to death, poor kid.

    Iโ€™m writing him off.
  5. You did. He's got a number of congenital health conditions. None of which should cause him to look like that. Try and find a child with a similar health condition in the UK that looks like a skeleton. You won't find one - because they will be getting adequate nutrition and medication. Both of which this poor kid is no longer recieving. The World Health Organisation are quoting 227 deaths relating to malnutrition - with 103 being children. And 87 adults starving to death in the last 5 weeks. So if that's the case - there will be hundreds if not thousands nearing starvation. And it's now not a simple as just sending loads of food in. Once people are starving - they are at risk of something called re-feeding syndrome, which is fatal in about 1 in 5 cases. Basically their electrolytes (phosphates, potassium, magnesium etc) are completely to pot and the insulin surge caused by carbohydrates in the food will deplete their blood of them. Causing all sorts of mayhem. Expect lots of cardiac arrests, respiratory failures and seizures unless they begin re-feeding under medical supervision. Which they can't do because there's likely too many people to treat/a lack of facilities and equipment/lots of dead Drs/Nurses and Dietitians. God knows how they are going to manage that without letting teams of foreign medics in to support the efforts. That's of course - if the famine which is being reported is true. If it's not then we've nothing to worry about.
  6. Football family gays. Letโ€™s batter em and better our season
  7. Notice you're not calling for "overdue democratic elections" in Russia?
  8. There were two shots against Stockport that it would have been nice for him to save. But as it stands, he hasnt made a save yet.
  9. I think it's more likely Challinor has them fighting for the title than they miss out on the play-offs They're an efficient unit

Said it before but Vic was part of partnership that had us top of the league or there abouts with 300 games in hand. Who knows what a new system and SS can do with him. Worth a try innit? Everyone is on a clean slate.
  11. Bottom end of Failsworth from Brookdale Park down to that Lidl in Newton Heath is chokka with Africans. Sundays are a colourful sight as they pack their couple of churches. Men in suits, women in bright dresses. They bother nobody and get on with their business The biggest problem is the pikeys around the bottom end of Oldham Road. Like you say โ€˜ratsโ€™. Bother everyone and steal fucking everything
  12. Itโ€™s not national. Its regional. towns like Bradford, Bolton, Luton, Rochdale, preston are now predominantly full of areas that are Muslim. shrewsbury isnโ€™t. Harlow isnโ€™t. Windsor isnโ€™t. 50,000 people have arrived on boats this year and the majority are Muslim lads. Where do you think they all are?
  13. Fuck me that's poor. Losing your touch at this old boy. Pathetic.

Youโ€™re all shit fans. Iโ€™m not going either
  15. Yep, that was the poor kid on the front of the express that was posted on here. Poor sod has a history of illnesses and itโ€™s was made out that he was being starved. It was then shared worldwide, a day later the truth came out. Iโ€™m pretty sure I posted about it on here.
  16. Forget what you have seen- you've been conned by a populist. The guys that repeatedly call for facts don't seem like it when you relate your own factual observations. If issues with poverty are so entwined within it, then surely the huge numbers of migrants wouldn't be being thrust into areas already suffering? An observation I've made is that "populism" gains traction when politicians and commentators loose sight of the bleeding obvious, and ignore the concerns, and needs of those the purport to represent. When that happens, they stand on their soap boxes again, look down on people and tell them they're wrong and being misled, in a typical elitist, high-brow condescending, cunt-stick sort of way. It is important that MPs have to look at the whole picture, and sometimes make unpopular decisions, however sooner or later, they have to explain and account for them. If, upon reflection, they weren't the best decisions, then they have to change, not double down. If they don't, then the the electorate will put in a populist. Democracy.
  17. Yeah bookies use 30/100 or 100/30 when odds against so it does not get confused with 3/1. Bit of a hang over from the days when they used to write odds on the board. You do see 10/3 more these days but I am old school.
  18. He made a couple of decent saves in the PNE friendly.

How many players have we had who IE ruined with his tippy tappy football?
  20. I will remain scarred by that for years. Losing a game, 10m, 5m, 1m to go or even in added time ... & we're strolling about passing it sideways & backward with no sense of urgency.
  21. One of the many (but possibly the best) examples of how much weโ€™ve changed over summer. Sat there absolutely buzzing that the robust and dynamic whites seem to be exactly that. Random things that put a massive smile on my face, in no particular order: - TSL falling to the ground when catching a ball / hanging on the cross bar when they put one miles over. Heโ€™s got massive confidence - yet to see him save a shot but it did just remind me of Trafford. - TSL playing 3 of the best passes Iโ€™ve seen us play in years. 1st half, left foot (which I think is his wrong foot) out to ACD; 2nd half (best of them all), ball coming across his body and he zinged one again to ACD on the right touch line, right into his stride; 3rd to set up the 2nd goal. - Simons smashing players, not wanting to show injury, and his shaved head. There was a moment in the first half where we got a free kick near the half way line, their player held the ball whilst he walked backwards, Sheehan stood with his arms out as if to plead for the naughty man to give it back to us, Simons just comes steaming in behind him to demand it and the lad threw it to him straight away. - Burstow winning headers and us having lads around him. Also just general hold up play - 1st half he had one launched up to him near the West Stand defenders all over him, he took it down, held 2 off, waited for ACD to get round him and played it to him. Seems simple but weโ€™ve not been able to do that for years. - 2 fast wingers and our willingness to just play a high early ball over their full backs and watch them shit themselves. Pace in the team seems like such a luxury (Randall is also deceptively quick!) - A few occasions where a big block, or a big tackle on their winger which resulted in a goal kick was celebrated by a few of them almost like a goal. - Toal. Just looks confident, on the ball and defensively. Might be the captaincy, might be the new set up with an actual midfield in front of him (and itโ€™s only 1 game) but he seemed like his old self. - Corners - we actual look slightly imposing in the box finally. - We donโ€™t run off the pitch at half time to prove how fit we are, instead weโ€™re still chasing down in the 90th minute. Obviously always glass half full after a win, but there are just so many little signs that weโ€™re a different beast this year and itโ€™ll be exciting to watch!
  22. looking at that map ukraine is massive why not go there the other EU countries coudl say "take a load in, and we'll let you in the EU, and we can fund some infrastructure so you can accomdate them" as they are all miiltary aged men, the rest can go to estonia, latvia, lithunua, moldova etc on the promise they join the army and fight any russian advancment i think the EU are missing a massive trick here to build an army to repel russia
  23. And if their lives are in real danger โ€œAt homeโ€ then they can have no complaints about being kept safe in the UK. Fed, watered, safe.
  24. Did cheese say โ€œI have no opinionโ€ earlier on? Really?

  26. It is like 6/4 is used rather than 3/2. There is no definitive reason I have seen why it is like that, was told it was to avoid confusion so have stuck with that. Other one is that 10/3 is a time but so is 5/2. 10/3 also does not rhyme with Burlington Burley.๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜Ž
  27. thing is why should france have them they don't want them as much as we don't I'm sure all the french are saying we don't want them so let them go to the UK, or let Holland, Belgium, Germany, Italy or Spain have them, depending on which border they crossed to get to France I think we should draw the line here
  28. Is 200 Asylum Seekers in the metropole for 4 years, various HMOs being filled as we speak across not just Blackpool but across the country as we speak not fact? You think everyone is up in arms for no reason at all? 50k in 400 days. Is 50k in 400 days not fact? Is the spread and growth of Islam not fact? Do all of the above not cause social issues?
  29. Yes but my point is they are legal, allowed to be here. Everyone is completely missing the point that those one the boats are a tiny proportion
  30. To be fair, 10x that have come here legally. Why is everyone ignoring that?
  31. Not a great time for the thread to move to a new page with that post ๐Ÿ˜‚. I had to check back whilst having a minor heart attack to see you werenโ€™t breaking some news about the club.
  32. this is why Labour need to really get it right and sooner rather than later because that mindset will see Reform voted in been here before with Brexit
  33. I used to think the same but I actually think Trump just would just love to be like Putin. He wants admiration over his people.
  34. If america had chosen to invade ukraine, I think itโ€™s almost certain that the whole lot would be under American control by now. Modern warfare means they are simply not close. Russia have nukes though. And millions of conscripts they can throw at a frontline. That keeps them relevant. Putin has Trump in his pocket. The only realistic outcome here is trump conceding the Donbass and eastern lands to Russia, on Zelenskyโ€™s behalf. Trump can control Zelensky but Putin has the Epstein files so trump is fucked. Putin will win. Trump will say heโ€™s the man of peace and his docile supporters will swallow like they do the other gallons of cum he shoots down their throats.
  35. It's reactionary to be calling just that. I get it as I once up on a time couldn't see it myself.
  36. Crazy that mate! Although I bet you're glad you had that jab at school. Could have been a lot worse if your immune system (knackered as it is ๐Ÿ˜) didn't understand what it was looking at. Hope you're well on the mend now though! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’ช
  37. The WW verify team will be busy tonight.๐Ÿ˜‰ (Theyโ€™ll be martyrs tomorrow)
  38. Not a clue how I got it and yes I got the jab in school.Strange thing is my immune system is completely knackered that was the reason for blood test before I get treatment for something else
  39. Ah right I was on about Lawrence
  40. Can we not just sign a Darren? Much easier!
  41. To make things even more confusing, Bochum also have 6'4" Defensive Midfielder Ibrahima Sissoko.

  46. Schon, i think, was the only signing that Ludonautics had an input on. Everyone (board, manager, fans) overreacted to what happened at Wembley. It was a humbling day (though everyone, myself included, went to Wembley that day with a certain amount of arrogance that it was a foregone conclusion). In hindsight, had Sharon come out in support of IE early on and calmed people down and had Evatt stuck to his guns and tweaked personnel rather than systems (and stayed away from the diet pills), we would have had a better chance last season (we wouldn't have gone up as we couldn't compete financially with Wrexham and Brum). Anyway, Schon is symptomatic of that overreaction. A tidy player, someone who always gave his all, but played out of position and thrust into a club still reeling. Seems a good lad and hope he finds somewhere for his career to settle. Far from our biggest problem last season, but most definitely not an SS player.
