  1. I have just had a message off London and he assures everyone that all is well, he logged out over Christmas and has been unable to log back in (could Zico or another Mod help with this please). LW also would like to thank Miami for showing some concern

  2. I didn't think one of the sites most argumentative clowns would be missed 😄 Very kind of you anyway @miamiwhite, if not a bit fucking dramatic 😉 For those that didn't know, the wee one came home early October. 149 days in hospital in total, 100 of them in intensive care. Born at just over 800 grams, he battled through pneumonia, sepsis, meningitis, blood transfusions and 2 trips to surgery. A proper little warrior (insert a bwfc legend's name here). Just hunkering down a bit for the winter and keeping our circle small. His lungs took a battering and he's really vulnerable to readmission if he catches something. He's on home oxygen whilst they grow stronger and we're getting lots of walks and time outside which helps us both. Not sure what the future will bring. But he's smiling away and even started laughing yesterday, so we can't ask for much more than that. Other than a nice pint of Guinness & three points tomorrow. A belated Merry Christmas fellas.

  5. If you’re facing us and you see ACD and Gale on the bench then you’re buzzing. Forget the formation bollocks, you are absolutely delighted to see our 2 match winners sat with their fucking joggers on. Personally I don’t think too much is wrong with it, but would go with the midfield 3 of Sheehan, EE and Simons and let Gale / ACD do the job of getting close to Burstow (and expect him to get back to early season form where he can actually hold the ball up for more than half a second).

  8. Thank God for that, I was starting to think I’m seeing things others aren’t! No he doesn’t 🤦‍♂️ You do realise there’s a difference between 4-2-3-1, 4-1-2-3 and 4-3-3 (with a more defensive minded number 10 - Dempsey), all of which we’ve adopted this season away. Personnel changes too within all that to bring in different types of attributes. Even though I don’t agree with this dropping a winger tactic, I’m giving it merit and debate because it’s reasonable and we are fans searching for answers to sort our away form out. But don’t try and make out that he’s done exactly the same thing for every away game, because he hasn’t.

  10. Gales raw speed can really stretch teams though and we’d need that away from home. I think the obvious one is that we sacrifice Forss / Dempsey and play a conventional 3 of Simons, Sheehan, Erhahon. If only we had a proper good right back who could let ACD come off the line and offer more support to the striker. RB should be our first priority this window. Get the absolute best we can and it can have such an effect on what we do up front

  11. Our only away clean sheet of the season and 1 of only 2 wins came from a midfield 3 of EE, Simons and Dempsey, with Forss out wide (and Tutu on the other side). All in all a team much more suited to winning the away battle. That's what I'd like to see more of, as opposed to dominating versus Wycombe but then losing the game in a 5 minute spell because we're too open

  12. How we keep the ball with no wingers? We need an extra man in midfield, it is sacrificing the #10 before a wide player. A conventional 433 / 451 gives us more in midfield and lets us counter with some width. Without the ball, we can be as compact as we want and if it’s not working, it’s easier to tweak to get a man further forward without too many changes

  13. I try to keep tabs on the Bolton Players out on loan, Aldershot - Charlie Warren and Sam Inwood: Inwood seems to have played every game for them, Warren has played 2 for them. Rochdale - Broome, played 4 matches for them including an Assist at the weekend (if you haven't seen the goal it's ace) Exeter - Have Gomes, who has been out with a muscle injury, managed about half hour across 3 games Torquay - Currently have Sonny Sharples, he's made a few sub appearances but has been on the bench each match Altrincham - Hutchinson seems to be the keeper of choice now, playing every available game for them. Warrington Town - Had Mark Isong, he played 15 games, scoring 2, now at Atherton with Dalimore. No details - Irwin, Lawrence, Weston, Eze,

  16. It’s a tough one to sort this away form we all have different ideas in how to solve it but I trust SS to sort it out and it maybe a case of putting things right in the transfer window .

  22. Yeah, I was the same just taking it all in and I saw the flag and I knew whose it was. That 30 minutes or so after the game had finished was an amazing experience in itself. It was such a relief to get those final runs. Even when Stokes was out and we only needed 10 runs, 4 wickets left but not knowing if Atkinson was fit to bat, it was still nerve wracking. Your pic is Flinder Street station, we were probably in the Young and Jackson pub on the other corner at that time, we’re in there every day, a great boozer for the cricket banter. Fly to Sydney Wednesday where we start it all again

  23. 😊 I was just taking in the moment and I spotted you. 👍 Out celebrating with the middle aged nonces and pissheads.😉 The Aussies look equally despondent that we have won a match here in their home and it wasn’t a whitewash. Wonderful. On to Sydney. 👍

  24. Got too love the Aussies.😅 Loads of Bolton fans here. We were at the traffic crossing yesterday and an Aussie/British family stood next to us. The young lad, about 9, kept staring at my son’s Bolton badges. The father apologised and explained that the lad’s grandfather used to play for us and loved all things BWFC. Who? I asked. Garry Jones he said! Well he couldn’t have met a bigger fan than me and I spent 20 minutes talking to them about his career and how I met him at the Reebok in a box just two weeks before he died. I’m not sure who got more out of the conversation. I suspect it was me. Garry’s son moved here years ago and the lad was born here.

  25. Our thick fans are slowly turning Schumacher off. Cheering Randall going off was fucking pathetic. I hope they both just crack on and ignrore the thick cunts in the stands.

  26. The ones he tweeted in Egypt were against some Egyptian laws apparently, hence him being jailed. The ones he tweeted over here were just for the killing of all police and British Jews. Nowt to worry about and our PM is glad he’s home.

  35. At the time I thought it was tight but you can see from that Gale was definitely offside ….but I’m not convinced he was obstructing the goalie’s view or interfering. There were other decisions that might have gone our way, still, we dodged another bullet.

  45. That Derby team had basically the same number of 3-0s (7) as 1-0 wins (8). They won 13 times away from home, eight by two or more goals and finished with a GD of +41. I only saw them play three times (vs us x2 and Pompey on TV) and admittedly they didn't look like 1970's Brazil. But equally I think there's a tendancy to make up narratives about teams we rarely watch. Derby were clearly a very good team and killed games off more often than not. That's the standard for getting automatic promotion. The more you let teams hang around at 1-0 the more likely you are to needlessly let points slip away (Reading being the classic example from this season as well as yesterday).

  46. I think we all get that points win prizes and a win is a win. We can celebrate the 3 points yet still look at stats like the above & think 'goodness me, we should have been out of sight' and not be seen as negative chunterers. We simply must find a more easy way through the low blockers who turn up with an intent to frustrate.

  47. Folk need to watch the other teams in our division and then conclude how well or not well we are playing. Go back and watch some of the tripe Wrexham served up last season and Derby the season before.

  48. Very entertaining! First test win in Oz for 15 years! Winning over there has to start somewhere. Win again in Sydney then bring on 2029! In fact save it for 2033 - Think I might go to that one! 😂 To our Bolton fans over there @BobyBrno and all the Barmy Army enjoy your night!

  50. As Boby said, 5 great days of test cricket. For a while yesterday we felt we could get the runs, but it was always a big ask. Cummins and Lyon out of Melbourne and possibly Sydney tests. I’m expecting Pope and possibly Duckett to be omitted with Bethell given a chance in Melbourne. Adelaide is a fantastic ground for cricket, almost 203,000 attending over the 5 days. We fly to Melbourne this afternoon. Looking forward to what will be a lifetime dream to be at the MCG on Boxing Day.
