I think the point is that you don’t know it’s an awful signing. You think it might turn out to be an awful signing. There’s a big difference and how you say it changes how people will read it. You’re unbelievably definitive in most things you say - sometimes you’ve actually got a really good point but you state everything as fact, not opinion. If you said “based on his recent record with Birmingham and Oxford and his injury problems, I think it will be an awful signing” then it’s far easier to understand and read, gain the context and then either agree or disagree with what is a very fair opinion. When you state it so factually, you’re basically saying this is right and anyone that thinks differently is wrong.

These men feel very strongly about the log flume.

That doesn't bode well for most of the posters on here then.
  5. Not like WW to have a knee jerk reaction to things with literally zero evidence! 😁
  6. I don't think Male couples should be adopting babies as I think babies need that maternal motherly instinct only biological females can provide. That caring motherly nature cannot be replaced or replicated by a male imo. I don't think them being gay had anything to do with this case mind. Being full blown murderous pedophiles was more to do with it.
  7. No I having a dig my old mucker @Cheese and his cronies that like to downplay issues such as these and pretend we don't have societal issues like currently sex attacks by Afghan males. You know like back in the day when there was no problems with Pakistani Muslims grooming young girls. That all wasn't a problem either.
  8. We don't know it wasn't him they were firing at

At the top end football is a very competitive game, and the fact that someone can spend years in the championship, and get signed by Liverpool and then Rangers, shows there's something there, you don't stay at that level or get signed by clubs like that for no reason. While things might not have worked out for a few years we have to take the risk, that it won't, this is how we compete. This is how we prioritise what budget we do have on the area's in which need the biggest investment. I think it'd be fair to question unknowns and signings from lower leagues, but signings like this can come all day for me. Not sure people have really understood how many signings etc we might make this year, we could be looking at 15-20 players by the end of the season. Even with the worlds best recruitment, there's going to be hits and there's going to be misses, hell Richard T might turn out to be a legend for us yet.

In fairness it was bizarre Forino wasn't playing at the time, not just with hindsight. Almost every team in league 1 launches balls on the box all game so leaving out our 1 dominant defender so much till January was puzzling.

With ‘hindsight’ is key. I saw nothing about in his early days here and with his injury history do not think many who have blinked if he had moved on. However he has proven myself and plenty of others wrong with the second half of the season performances. All that experience gained playing for St Lucia must have improved him 😂😂. I was just as wrong about Dalby so it is not as though it is only defenders I can not judge

ACD was our sprinkling of game changing stardust, the time he spent out clearly didn't help us, though may have helped him, to be able to burst back on the scene with freshness and vitality at a key stage of the season. He'd arguably just started to look a little jaded when the injury struck. In terms of consistent performance over the course of the season, accounting for SS questionably leaving him out on some occasions, Forino was my standout. Hadn't been convinced about him last season but grew immeasurably through this one.
  13. I'm not saying it's about them doing anything wrong. I'm saying women naturally offer a layer of care with babies/infants that men cannot. That's why men shouldn't be allowed to adopt infants or babies. Not because they are more of a threat, just that for me kids at that age need a mother or motherly figures. Blokes bond better with their own kids once they reach the toddler stage as it is. Why a bloke would want to change nappies in a nursery is beyond me as well. That shit comes from maternal instinct.
  14. Anything from primary school is OK for me. No way a bloke should be working a pre-school nursery. Just some areas in life a bloke shouldn't be.

Sluffy is the third person and if he’s not available it’s @little whitt
  16. You are right it is late, but something needs to be done. My missus has amongst her friends 3 who have sons (very high % of people affected seem to be male) who suffer from some type of social anxiety , never go out and spend their time on computers. No idea how old your mates lad is but her mates kids are late teens/early 20s. No idea what they are going to do for the rest of their lives as they are so reclusive can not see them getting a job. In the example of your mate, what happens next ? we talk a fair bit on here about mental health and you will never convince me otherwise that Social Media is the major thing feeding the crisis we have talked about on here. 25% of suicides in young people are linked to Social media and suicide rate amongst kids has increased by 50% in last decade those facts alone justifies the ban. 75% of suicides are male backing up the point I made earlier. We need to break that cycle, the social media companies have been asked to step up and have simply ignored the request. Alongside this ban we need to be looking at how we support young people with the challenges of growing up in a world that is so different than the one we did. That includes working with the various charities and support groups to see how we support and develop channels for those that need support to get it. I am not expecting to see mass games of football in the local park or on our street , but getting kids off social media that is doing significant harm to significant numbers is something I 100% support.

I don't know, all I've heard is that initially Schumacher wasn't sure that he was the way to go, but now it sounds like it's done so something must have changed in the meantime. That's assuming the bit about Schumacher not being sure is true, I still don't really know who/where this info comes from, it's just always pretty nailed on.
  18. the couple who took my dog send regular pics and videos proper missing him but seeing him with his new brother / best mate is lovely to see

I'm clearly missing something. The "tackling leg" doesn't make contact for me. Shearer reckons the trailing leg did- which it might have, I just couldn't tell.

  26. Just a reminder that there will be no Easter fixtures next season or this season whatever you prefer as FIFA have scheduled the March international Games over this period
  27. Shocking failures once again
  28. If they're England fans, they should have a England flag
  29. Couldn't select him now even if he wanted to, as he wasn't in that original 55 man squad that was picked. It's nuts really
  30. Its a fair point that saying 'awful signing' is premature, especially without seeing him play for us first, or how his fitness measures up after a few months. But equally, we will all have to avoid saying 'brilliant signing' when we sign a proven championship striker for a couple of million 😄 Nobody knows, they might not settle in, they might get injured, they might just not play very well for us. Simons and Burstow were categorically great signings for a couple of months, agreed by everyone, and then relegated to just "signings". Gale had a similar status. Cissoko etc. So, no great signings and no awful one's until at least we can judge at the end of the season. (Unless we've had them on loan for 6 months, they've been crap, and we've gone back and paid money for them).
  31. There’s a young lad joined the nursery that’s part of our school. He’s great. Full of energy & kids love him. Does a lot of Forest school & wildlife stuff with them. One kid in particular has had a tough upbringing, quite violent at times in school. He’s made a lovely bond with this member of staff. Has really settled down. Another guy in my local nursery, he’s always outside running about with the kids. They seem to worship him. He’s been there a while & earns an early years practitioner salary. Not too bad money to aspire to. Sad state of affairs that there are still dinosaurs out there judging people who care about their work & do a great job. Most kids in nursery aren’t babies. Many are walking, talking & running about. Research clearly shows kids do better under male & female role models. These cases are fucking horrific. Cannot even begin to imagine the pain of a parent after putting their trust in a nursery. The solution isn’t to ban men though. Quite the opposite. Could be that they aren’t allowed to do changes or something.
  32. 🤣 Aye last thing you want is someone else telling you some home truths 😊
  33. You can get wrong ‘un mums and wrong ‘un dads. Social services needs to keep doing their best to make sure none of them have access to kids. Equally you can have great mums and great dads. They are the ones who will give a child a safe home. Surely it’s as simple as that.
  34. Maybe they could take a few dinghies out If they're pissing around out there for a bit.
  35. With regard to the grooming gangs inquiry, until it is concluded, no one can compare figures. The whole point of the inquiry is that it was covered up. The scale of it is unprecedented. Thousands of cases over more than 20 authorities covered up or not investigated. It won’t be concluded during this government’s tenure that’s for sure.
  36. Correct I’ve got a job. And a life. 😀
  37. Have we signed Rivaldo yet?
  38. I now don’t have to write my response. Perfectly put @Eddie 👍
  39. Of course it's a problem, nobody is saying otherwise. Just that a blanket ban has its pitfalls. It's all there to debate. You bringing the grooming gang scandal into it is absolute horseshit. Probably sounded better in your mind didn't it. Fucking codswallop.
  40. 🎣 Neil Thompson would have been 65 this year. Sir Tim Berners-Lee is 71 ( a good age) both responsible in their own way of allowing stupid people to say stupid things to a much wider audience than they deserve.
  41. You are probably right, to expect kids to suddenly go out and discover nature, play Kerby, start reading books, enjoy cycling adventures with their mates is bollocks, something needs to be introduced to fill the gap and support those who are addicted and/or reliant on it. But if we keep just kicking the can down the road nothing will happen and there is no reason to think the suicide rate will do anything but continue to rise.
  42. I always got tge impression with Evatt and Markham that Evatt was the one in charge
  43. Never one sentence when 400 are available.
  44. Off you go and typically spin and put your own narrative to what i and others say on here. Are we not allowed a opinion?? Seems not according to you I deal with facts and the facts are Bonham Reserve, Nominal fee sold Christie Released, Simons Loaned then sold, Burstow Loaned, Forss loaned Apter Loaned ,Blackett Taylor loaned. ACD returned to club then loaned a division below [us] Rodrigues sold Those are the players with Championship Experience not a one held a first team Championship spot down......You can add Davies who struggled to get a game in the championship with Oxford a season after playing most games for a Birmingham team that ripped league one up. The rest of our players have never played higher than league one........So as i say we wont know until the season starts if many can make the leap up. PS I heard the same bullshit when i Questioned Evatt/Markham signings after the Oxford shit show. For what its worth SS/Harkins signings are streets ahead of Evatt/Markham.......Some will work some wont, just like some players will take to the championship while others will struggle
  45. Sluffy you are one of those in life that is educated yet as thick as fog. When i and others said these young players with no Championship experience are a risk it is because until they play there we do not know if they can step up. That also applies to 90% of our established players. What me and meanderson93 are saying is Stephenson may be a risk in that he is not ready to play 40 odd games next season at right back, but over the length of his contract he will improve year on year and we may sell him on in a year or two at a tidy profit. What are the players i desire???? I am more than happy to leave that up to SS/Fergal and yes i would take 4th bottom if offered it right now and it will be a decent season if we survive. A better keeper, two experienced full backs, a leader to push both Forino and Toal and a Established number nine are a must in my opinion, but that is all it is my opinion. That still leaves enough room to bring in your Watsons and Stephenson and hopefully ship out another three, four from the squad already here.

Id sign the entire Cape Verdi squad after that !
  47. I was convinced we'd be miles better under Evatt in the championship
  48. anything that says Sluffy has replied
  49. The new me generally avoids the politics one. Life is too short to be arguing with blokes I don't know on a computer. Although I do get occasionally get drawn in if one of the "usual suspects" (🙂) posts some absolute bullshit and they need putting right. I was having a read of it tonight and thought "what a sanctimonious twat' and almost waded in, but thought better of it.
