  1. He's up and running 🏃‍♂️ Can he play right back? VID-20260702-WA0085.mp4

Max has played in a division higher than the one before for 4 successive seasons. Huge learning curve but he keeps progressing. He's obviously not the finished article yet. Let's make it 5.
  4. This mon is the main reason this site lost the fun posters like Brixton, ssm, seasonedtraveller etc. It has now possibly reached new lows. Zico, cassie,Carlos please get shut of this muppet.

He was also brought back in later. Played in the play offs. Definitely dripped off for a while, but I don't accept that he, and any of the other younger players, who are at the early stages of their careers, can't/won't make the necessary improvements. Players sometimes get better alongside other better players. SS made it clear a couple of weeks back with his comments, that the players have the opportunity to show what they can do and cement their places. He also said that he feels they have what it takes. Of course he isn't going to say they're not good enough, but he hasn't shipped them out neither. Another pre season, a full season under their belts, physically stronger etc. Ultimately, they may not make it. Writing them off though is unfair.
  6. Applied to the wrong thread wasn’t it? 😂
  7. Why call for people to be banned just because you either don’t like what they write or have a different view or even just because of the lengths of their posts. Surely there are enough options to ignore or scroll through peoples posts if you don’t like them without resorting to banning. Surely that should be for inappropriate or abusive posts not just the preferences of a few. Mods would be doing a lousy job binning posters just because some don’t like them.

Conway had a good season in division 4 at a promotion chasing side. He stepped up to division 3 and more than held his own in another promotion chasing side. The lad is still developing and there's every chance he steps up to the next hurdle.

Harrington I cannot comment on, but Bonham I can. It's not some vendetta against him & his last performances were good but he will not cut it in the Championship & 'let's wait till Christmas' would be disastrous.
  10. Losing the will to live (Part Two)
  11. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
  12. that was the reason I thought the referendum should have been weighted... the younger voters who were going to have to live with the decision for possibly the remainder of their active lives and careers should have had more "sway" over the older ones... if it meant a person half my age should have had more clout then so be it

I don't think Ken ran off with £3.5m mate. He Just stopped covering the losses and paying the bills when it all went sour.

It might have been a slight exaggeration to make a point 😀 but no one could have imagined Alonso going on to do what he did. With patience and coaching and better players around him to cover his runs Conway has the tools to step up this season.
  16. Thought you were talking about @gonzo 's whatsapp for a minute
  17. we must be 30 pages deep in utter gash. And completely, utterly, totally fucking pointless.
  18. Brilliant news @gonzo All the very best to your kid for the future.

Conway has got better year on year, by all accounts is willing to work on his game & is young enough to improve the defensive side of his game. If he doesn't, he won't be in the side as shown last season, but writing him off now is another example of homegrown/local players being judged more harshly than others.
  21. I can't speak for all my 'mates' but I do have an interest in the finances, I am however not interested in micro analysis, incorrect conclusions and endless tedious arguments you initiate trying to search for an issue which doesn't look to be there. You will deny it of course, but you clearly have an agenda. You are sucking the life out of this place, and ruining the majority of peoples enjoyment, if only there was an idiom for that situation! Now "fuck off you cunt" or whatever words you used!

I don't care if he was born on the town hall steps with Fred Dibnah, Ian McKellen and Nat Lofthouse as the three wise man. Not a chance on earth he's good enough for the championship. Like said above he lost his place to a center back for our most important games and would never have started in the memory man at Wembley if it wasn't for Toals injury. And he had an absolute shocker too. He isn't good enough.

What rubbish. The best young prospect we’ve had here since the Rioch days and some of you want him out on loan. Max will be first choice next season as well he should be and he’ll develop here with better quality players around and behind him. Some need to leave off Jack Bonham too and recall that if it weren’t for his late season saves we’d still be in L1 now.

I do. Simply because that means SS will feel he has made the necessary improvements to step up. For one of our youngsters to achieve that would be brilliant. We don't know if he will of course, but I'm sure we'd all like him to. That is of course, if he doesn't get promoted to midfield.. 😀

I'd be inclined to start Stones for this just for his calming influence. We Look panicky as fuck at the back
  26. I stopped reading after that, but that might well have been the best bit of Bolton-ese I’ve ever read on here.

Play at altitude at midday? Fuck right off. All England players must chop off their right foot and testicle before play too.
  32. I think Baxter was/is a decent keeper but crumbles under real pressure. So fine in a team winning and playing well, but when the chips are down.. Wasn't the only one. That's what was different about the team last season, they kept going.

7pm UK kick off now likely! Thank you the weather.
  35. Its sad for both parties how it turned out, with him going somewhere he clearly didn't want to. Glad to see he's turned it round and probably enjoying a very comfortable life in Australia, but professionally a shame.
  36. Yeah, it seems daft to think it now given how his career progressed after leaving us, but I think you're absolutely right Another year or so being our main man while he waited for the right club to come along and I think he might've flourished Wrong move at the wrong time
  37. I dunno I just feel if we had a steadier ship around that period and he had more time to develop, he'd have ended up playing levels above us.
  38. I did! Must be summat to do with CERN switching off the large hydron collider. Parallel universes and all that.

  41. Christ it's still going on ffs... I'm not. Details contained in FVWL Football Ltd accounts, page 4, Employees The point I was trying to make was that individuals didn't necessarily had to be working 100% of their time on the playing squad (or none-playing squad) I used the example previously of coach employed by the club who splits his time working with the playing squad but also works within the community. Wrong about everything apart from me being a psychopath. It is "you're", not "your". I wouldn't want people to think that obsessed psychopath's like ourselves didn't know basic English... Thanks mate. I'll try but I never expect the totally uncalled for maelstrom from yesterday to have occurred from a completely innocuous post that I made - if someone else had posted it, it would have passed by with little or no comment. Wouldn't it?
  42. (I'd have said Zach Clough was our best youth prospect since the Rioch days).
  43. Come on that’s not fair. He was caught out of position when attacking because nobody covered for him. Where was Johnston, where was Erhahon or our other covering left side mids? Gales is about as much use as the proverbial chocolate fire guard filling in so it’s unfair to just criticise Conway. Yes he had a fall off in form later in the season and nobody’s arguing that Johnston wasn’t a stronger defender for that period but claiming Max isn’t up to it is just plain bonkers and I’ve no doubt he’ll prove it to you very quickly. We’ve just signed a guy of approximately the same age as Max who’s not even played at Max’s level yet you’re expecting/hoping he’ll perform. Both will be fine but let’s just keep it fair eh?
  44. Thought he’d have got a better move than League 2.
