I find a lot of Parky's detractors often know the least about him He wasn't at the start of his managerial career when he joined us as he'd already guided Colchester United from League One relegation candidates to promotion to the Championship, got Bradford City promoted to League One, a League Cup final whil in League Two, and an FA Cup quarter-final He got us promoted at the first attempt while under a transfer embargo and then kept us up the following season as the club began to crumble Wrexham might've had a cash injections but people go on as if three consecutive promotions and a seventh placed finish in the Championship in four years is a piece of piss He's just a very, very good football manager with a track record of success at most of the clubs he's worked for
  2. I feel really sorry for Joel to be honest. He didn’t decide on the fee we paid and he took the contract we offered but at the end of the day I don’t think he’s anywhere near as bad as he’s shown so far. He just looks totally bereft of confidence and must have been under enormous pressure to perform every time he played, including at Blackpool. I really hope the lad gets a move soon and rediscovers his form wherever that is but I agree it won’t be here.
  3. I'm a woke lefty snowflake allegedly, but I'd pull the switch on her myself.
  4. She should be executed too
  5. I think its one thing wanting out of the pizza cup with about 5 games before Christmas causing fixture congestion, but turning down the opportunity for a 2nd round tie also removes the option of bedding in some of the new signings (already here, or still to come). Every single signing, including Dong and Watson, now has to make his first competitive start in a championship game. Last year when we played Sheff Wed in the cup we got an exciting 3-3 draw (we helped them with another sending off - Inwood), Gale and ACD each scored a cracker and had "arrived" as 1st teamers, Miller got his nervy debut out of the way, Warren got an opportunity to show he wasn't ready for L1, etc. Most other championship teams will be signing players this month and using them in the 2nd round, without caring too much for the result compared to the league.

A comment from an ex wiggin manager and this quickly turned into jonny kenny saga 2.0 . None of us know if kenny was even plan a , some folk need to recognise there are other strikers who score goals. Yes the majority of us would like him but its far from the end of the world, I cant bring mesel to look on twitter but am guessing there are suicidal muppets on the verge of returning their season tickets.
  7. Dalby is weak when we play with a ten. He needs help as seen after Christmas The sooner we get Dalby help with Either Kenny or Dean allowing Rodrigues to go back at the side of Sheehan. One signing will give this team so much more balance. A lot of good on show yesterday, just missing one or two pieces of the jigsaw

Hopefully not all our hopes are pinned on Kenny, as it appears on this forum. We need a lot more than Kenny.
  9. Just back, we were the better team & I was confident up to the sending off but after that, Sheffield looked the likely winners. We played some nice football but we were toothless.....I felt sorry for Dalby who did well but was completely isolated.......so nothing we didn,t know beforehand. Stephenson, Forino & Davies were very solid defensively, but not sure about Farnewo yet !!, midfield was good & we'll miss Simons who played well & the wingers were hit & miss.........my first sight of Dong is that he's not as bad as those who seem to have written him off say, not a starter yet but he's got potential. The trains were ridiculously overcrowded both ways but on the plus side, there was a good Madness/Ska band on in the Balmoral !!

If Kenny doesn't want to come then fuck him. He can sit on the bench for Celtic with a bunch of twitter mongos that think he's shite. Get this scouse lunatic in and we can all crack on. Him and McAtee should get on like house on fire.

Bristol City have just spent 10m on two forwards who do not have a CV as Good as Max Dean has.......He was 18 when he got a goal in just over 2 games for MK Dons. Had two decent seasons in Belgium........We are not getting better

ADHD'd out of his fucking mind. You need lads like him in a dressing room.

I'm guessing it's a part of their club's social media, a bit like our Inside Matchday thing but with a player mic'd up I don't know anything about his ability other than what I've seen on his highlights reel, but he seems the sort who'd be good in the dressing rooom and Rioch did always say it's important to have a few scousers in there
  15. Not the 1st time we've totally out played a side and lost.
  16. Agree with this, there's been a lot of talk before and since yesterday along the 'glorified friendly', 'pre-season comp', 'wont care if we're out of it' lines. Almost that playing round 1 before league starts has lowered its status compared to if it was played a week on Tuesday as has been tradition. What it does do is miss the trick you've set out, we've been used to bedding new boys in through Pizza Cup and maybe a couple of games in Carabao. None of that open to us now. We made a balls of that yesterday
  17. I think he simply cannot be as bad as he's appeared for us. But he has been very poor in actual performances. I was very patient, accepted lots of excuses, forgave his fails ... but he never gripped them & said "look, I'm a good player". He's floated about & given us next to nothing. Somewhere else he may turn it around. Peterborough may want him back, Evatt saw some in him ... twice now ... but he's turning nothing round here.
  18. Daughter went to Uni in Sheff 16 years ago, never came back, settled there, fair to say I enjoy my visits to hers 😊🍺

That means sod all if he can’t even get in bench he will still move by August
  20. Its just... a really, really good piss up, Sheffield. Genuinely top class.
  21. Randall 😳 Writing Watson off after a couple of games. Sorry this is crank.
  22. Or another way to look at it. Today’s game has no relevance on what we want this season. I’ll say it. Glad we are out. Shit tourno
  23. Even I'm back home for this one.
  24. If we don’t play him, how does he get this experience? I’d have brought Ritchie on, rather than McAtee, on Saturday.
  25. David Jack
  26. I don't think it does, but thank you anyway.

They wouldnt admit it, and obviously hope hes doing okay, but Trans Euro flows miles better with Kevin Hatchard and Andy Brassel doing it rather than having Danny Kelly going off on one every few mins. The chat tonight in hour 2 between them and Tim Vickery about FIFA is well worth finding on catch up. Proper, informed, non ragebait chat.
  28. If he wants to come then come on down I love the fucker
  29. John Thomas was our best striker with two first names
  30. I'm not sure to be honest, Athy above saying it's in Government, and double an MP salary, so touching £198K which isn't bad. I've looked, and can't see what it is he's been given... As I said, he might be the best person for the job, whatever it is.....I really don't know. I'm sure though, that he'll have been told that he'd get something if he stepped aside, I don't think it's unreasonable for him to expect it either to be honest, why else give up a fairly safe seat
  31. I have no issue with a player wanting to fight for his role in what he, given his background, probably sees as the epitome of clubs The fact that the club persists in buying player after player above him makes that a bit daft. Add that the fans, almost to a man, think he's shite doesn't help. But, ffs, tell us he's not available so that door closes. We'll sign him, maybe on loan, in January when he's spent 5 months on the bench & barely got off it.
  32. I think it's instead of, Kenny wants to fight for his place, I have a feeling that'll last until the end of the window seeing as they're about to sign their 3rd striker of the summer. But we can't sit here twiddling our thumbs for him to realise he's wasting his career there, so Dean will be this year's Kenny role if he comes and we're still after a Burstow-esque forward as well.
  33. I think we should also weigh in the fact he's scored at one goal every three games in the Belgian top flight. Obviously not the best top division in Europe but it will certainly be far from the worst. Anyway... we need to sign the lad first before we have this debate in full. And if we do sign him we'll probably see him and be able to judge for ourselves soon enough.
  34. For a start, I don't like Farage, he is as dodgy as they come, what he's done in Clacton has made him look a fool, as for it being allowed it seems like it is
  35. Post match interview with the KAA Gent Manager - Max Dean wants to return to England. Bolton Wanderers target seeking English club, claims coach | The Bolton News
  36. Yes, we couldn't really afford a team capable of playing the way he needed And, to be fair, it was also because he was shit
  37. I'm definitely not saying stats are a reliable indicator, but officially they had 13 shots (we had 11) and its strange that a team who's totally outplayed manages 13 shots (3 on target). We had 11 shots apparently, 1 on target, which says a lot if we were all over them. Similar to last season when there were claims we outplayed teams, yet the opposition keeper was a spectator. Having someone that can shoot (aside from ACD last year) or a proper striker is part of dominating a game.
  38. Indeed, and this job is a reward for doing something for the country. Apparently "rewards" shouldn't be questioned.....
  39. Players - particulaly players who aren't playing - whinge all the time Parky's record suggests he gets many more things right than wrong
  40. That's one way of looking at it I suppose. But you could also argue that the guy who stepped down so that Burnham would run is a supporter of his values and his ideology - and felt that by stepping aside he could do something meaningful for the country.
  41. The only thing for it is to remove all children from any contact with male relatives.
  42. Cery much so! 😂
  43. I’m trying to bell his drug dealer but it’s Engaged 😂
  44. You don’t post enough on here 👏👏
  45. I definitely wouldn’t play Randall but based on today’s performance alone Watson or McAtee would be nowhere near the starting 11. this season is going to be the worst ever unless we bring in 4 or 5 players who are good enough for this league. We need two wingers, two strikers and another defensive midfielder
  46. I'm not writing him off, I'm saying I'd pick Randall before him for next week. Not writing anyone off, talking about one game. Its hard enough starting your first game in any circumstances (getting used to how we play etc) but the first game in the championship in a local derby is not the time to be thrown in the deep end. SS picked Randall game after game for a spell last season, he's not quite as crap as everyone says, its just we're expecting to sign better (RR replaced him last season but we also had Dempsey and Kenny keeping him out). If you've seen enough in Watson to give him a start, fair enough. I already know the answer is SS knows more about the players than us because he sees them in training. But we are just chatting on a forum about who'd we pick or leave out if it was upto us. Folk wanting Watson to start are literally basing it on SS knows best, not their own judgement.
  47. Funny how we all see it. Just felt pre season. Simons is a tit for that. Gray is a little gimp. I said this before losing that cups are wank. We are only conditioned to remember the good old days. We’d of lost to someone like Walsall in R2. Last time we went out to Sheff Wed we ended up promoted. Liked a lot of today. Still toothless up top. I’ll decide when the windows shut as I could see all removed. Mcatee 3.0 (as someone who backed him the last 2 years) looked like 1.0 and 2.0. Felt Stephenson was fouled for a blatant pen too. Stephenson and the Spaniard look ace. Gale had his moments. Roll on PNE.
  48. You're framing it like Ken was a martyr with no choices. He had choices. He chose to extract personal fees, secure debt in his own name, fail to pay players/staff, fail to pay agreed transfer fees, and take the club into administration anyway leaving us with no players, relegation, minus 12 points and dragged it out longer than it needed to agreeing a deal with FV because he wanted the best deal for himself. he certainly didn't take a club in crisis and restructure us in to a viable business model to attract new buyers he didn't save us, FV the Eddie Davies Trust did it was probably KAs plan all along it wouldn't have been mine "I would like to pay particular tribute to the Eddie Davies Trust and their legal team who, throughout this whole process, have been willing to do everything in their power to ensure Eddie's incredible legacy was maintained and not sullied... Even at the 11th hour when other parties were content to renege on their agreements, the Trust realised the very existence of Bolton Wanderers was at stake and were willing to find a compromise to save the club." "The Trust were forced to constantly compromise their position in the face of circumstances and demands which were wholly unreasonable. This says much about their determination not to allow Eddie's beloved Bolton Wanderers to suffer any longer at the hands of Ken Anderson." "Sadly, Mr Anderson has used his position as a secured creditor to hamper and frustrate any deal that did not benefit him or suit his purposes. Thankfully, with the assistance of the Trust and others, we were able to overcome this obstacle."
