How you miss it, fuck knows. Iโ€™ve been to the place, seen the river, itโ€™s hardly the Thames or even the Ribble. Embarrassing policing. RIP.

Why?

The private company with their specialist equipment couldn't find her- so is it not their fault?

One of the specialists spoke at one stage about the possibility of tidal flow actually being able to bring a body back up a river, several times as it ebbs and flows.ย

I don't know whether that's possible at the point where she's been found, but that's the point- we don't know enough to make such judgements.ย

Do folk remember the chap who's body was found in leverhulme Park a few years back? We had divers from all over greater Manchester arriving down the road from me, searching Blackshaw Brook and all over. It was months before he was found- by a member of the public- and there was no river involved neither.

The private search team dudes reckon they searched that bit where she was found.ย

If shes not been put there she must have timed the tidal flow perfectly. Out while they are looking then drifted back in.

Or theyโ€™re a bit embarrassed and will now try to make the police look like halfwits.

Maybe theyโ€™re not as good as they claim they are, these โ€œexpertsโ€?

A possibility?

Youโ€™d imagine the decomposition will solve that riddle pretty quickly

Unless she'd been kept in a tank of water?

I wonder who'd have a large tank of water in the back of a van in that locality?

Found in the reads- the sonar equipment searches the river bed, but doesn't work in reads.

Makes sense, and apparently he explained this at time, but he also made the statement "if she's in the river, we'll find her". Perhaps not the best choice of words with hindsight, but none of this will bring her back.

A lot of those responses saying he only searched where he was allowed to

If true, and being expert in this sort of thing, could he not have searched a wider area of his own accord?ย

Or is it just twitter folk making stuff up?

So if he did search the area, upon seeing reeds and knowing his equipment can't scan them, did he not think a look in the reeds might have been a good idea?

I think the police were already doing that.

Perhaps they're not accessible easily from a boat?

Perhaps those searching for her from the bank would have had a better view?

Maybe the body was washed into them before submerging only to surface later?

Who knows?
