Theres a possibility we might be coming back into fashion with the deserters. I reckon that Papa Johns victory could add another thousand or 2 season tickets sold. I’d imagine a lot more of the kids who may have been bitten by the BWFC bug at Wembley and are now haranguing their parents for more of that feeling more than ex-attendees coming back. Perhaps the kids’ parents and the lapsed fans are the same folk. Quote

Your kid/grandkid/nephew wants a ticket, there's none available around you. Then you have to decide whether to move to a different stand, away from the fans you've sat with for years, or tell them to get their own seats when they're old enough! Quote

paulhanley Posted April 8, 2023 Posted April 8, 2023 Nearly as excited to see what Monday's gate is as I am about the match itself. This level of enthusiasm in the town is not a commonplace thing. It was present at various stages in the mid to late 70s and then around the 2003-05 period when it became clear we were going to make a serious impression on the top flight. For this to happen in third tier football is remarkable and will be a solid base for the club whenever Championship football arrives. Quote

Over 33,000 on Burnden against Blackburn in 1973 in the third division. 42,000 against City the same season I think. The foundations for the years that followed were set by Jimmy Armfield and his young Wanderers side, Garry Jones et al. Quote

Even with an ex Blackpool player as our boss! Quote
