Showed exactly why he needs to start ahead of Dempsey.

Yep, miles ahead of Demspey at the moment ..  and light-years ahead of Morley.

If he was consistent he'd not be loaned out to a L1 club.

I like Maghoma

think he offers loads more than People give him credit for, technically very very good.

if we were Championship or above we’d all be a bit more happy with what he does. Just sometimes at this level doesn’t suite. Tonight I though he was used perfectly by Evatt

If you aren’t consistent then a good description would be bang average. Pleased you got there in the end.

Give over.

You know as well as I do that calling someone 'bang' average is a lot worse than saying average.

What would you describe Morley and Dempsey as?

Looked a penalty on Collins he pulled him back

Yep pulled his arm back as he was going to shoot, meaning he lost his balance, hence the weak shot. Linesman had a great view of it. VAR gives that.

Dempsey is better all round midfielder than Maghoma… Morley is having a shocker of a season, not sure what’s happened to the lad.

Our best penalty taker though!  If we're in play offs and its looking anything like a pen shoot out, he's the only one I'd have 100% confidence in.  And his dead ball delivery is better than anyone else, I'm a massive Sheehan fan but his corners were dire tonight.

obviously don't want anyone getting injured but could Cogley being out be a blessing in disguise? Jones far better at wing back and looked far better when moved there tonight

This was one of my initial thoughts.

I think defensively we get caught so much on that right side. Jones looks miles better RWB and has a good cross on him.

Id put either Forrester, Santos, Toal or Toal, Santos, Iredale in for the rest of the season.

Iredale has had his critics but I love his aggression

Coleman - started slowly after Baxter’s injury and had a few mishaps in his first couple of games. Really improved last few matches. Makes him bang average.

Dacres Cogley - unconvinced by his last few games, despite some fantastic performances earlier in the year. Makes him bang average.

Jones is generally solid and puts in a shift, but can be frail defensively. Prone to the odd mistake eg red card earlier in the year. Makes him average.

Iredale has been hit and miss. Games like Wigan (h) show his inconsistency - makes him bang average.

Williams went through a tough patch before his injury. Not consistent enough with his defending. Makes him bang average.

Morley, Sheehan - no consistency, hence they’re not regular starters. Bang average.

Bod plays great off the bench but can’t take his chances when starting. No consistency. Bang average.

Collins had some good moments in the last couple of games, but first few matches he wasn’t at the races. Bang average.

Dion - Top scorer with 17, but had a few dodgy performances before his injury. Must be bang average.

The lads in bold generally start every game so are better than bang average. Pretty sure Collins will start every game when he’s settled in.

Right, so actually it’s not about consistency or performance level, it’s about if the manager picks you or not.

Jesus, that was the worst and best of us in one game.

First 60 mins was the slow paced version of us, which just does not work against the better teams. It's safe, scared football, and Barnsley were by far more effective. That is where we are mentally weak in these games, turning up with the wrong attitude.

Then final 30 mins a complete turnaround, playing much faster, trying to make things happen and proving how much better than Barnsley we are. Well pleased with the point considering, but so many missed chances, and why can't we play like that for 90?!

We have to start turning up with the right attitude and being braver in these games from the off. That second place should be ours on squad ability.

One tactical point a few others have mentioned, the back 5 looked far better balanced with the rejig to left footers on the left, right footers on the right.
