I do think goal difference is over rated.  How often does a team's end of season fate get decided by goal difference?  We could be -30 but we only need 1 more point than 3rd place, there's 38 games to go and we have to play 8 of the current top 9 twice yet!

Im with you but it got mighty close back end last season with Posh

Another great result. That first goal was superb play. Two perfect passes from Santos and Schon and then a great finish from McAtee. Thomasons and Dions were pretty good too and we're looking dangerous from corners.

Good performances all round but Dempsey is really looking on top form at the moment. He could get 10+ goals this season if he carries on playing like this.

Great night.

Come On You Whites!!!

Now if someone can tell me how the fuck to speed up an EV charger at a petrol station then I’ll be very grateful!

Try licking it

Great performance but needed a clean sheet to make a real statement. Sloppy to let 2 in.

A statement would be just to carry on winning, I'll take 4-2 every game.  And for all folk are describing their goals as sloppy, Eaves header was top quality for this league, we won't come up against anyone that's harder to beat in the air this season, we could work on it all week but how do we stop that?

I'd rather concede them than the 3 goals gifted from fannying around we've seen previously.

Williams was poor when he came on and did Arfield tough the ball?

great win

With my admittedly dodgy eyesight, I thought he assisted for Charles goal

Stop the cross, rather than the header.

Not necessarily easy, and maybe they had just dropped off somewhat. Can forgive them that, so long as wins continue.

Anyway, Wrexham lost, and results all a bit mixed at the moment.

Will settle down in a few weeks.

Ignoring the stoppage time switching off, but thought we were brilliant tonight.

Santos back to his best, Dempsey looking like a man reborn and Schon looking like a proper LWB. Also great we can take off both strikers and replace them with two strikers most clubs in the league would have as first choice.

Onwards and upwards.

Given both Huddersfield and Rotherham look shite, the likes of Charlton, Barnsley and Peterborough look nowt special, and Stockport, Mansfield and Wrexham will all drop away, I've just convinced myself this league's a piece of piss and we've nowt to worry about.

Us, Brum and Blackpool battling it out for top two.

I must admit, the relative failures of Huddersfield, Rotherham and Peterboro so far have given me renewed hope (along with us turning the corner obviously).  Of those teams you mention I think Stockport and Wrexham will be competing because they'll spend in January no doubt.

But I don't think Blackpool's run will continue, its got new manager syndrome written all over it and they probably don't have the squad depth to maintain it throughout winter.  Just keep winning the winnable games for now and we'll be up there.

People saying letting 2 late goals is so bad for goal difference but no one mentions Dion not passing to Arfield.

Folk on Fbook blaming Santos for both goals but ignoring for 92 minutes he was brilliant, the first goal was a level above most teams in this division.
Scone looks like a different player but IMO could have seen red for that tackle. Still excellent overall.
Very healthy competition upfront for places, but could do with some defenders back. The midfield 3 looks very balanced.

Still playing catch up but other than Brum hard to see anyone pulling away. The madness of the formation at the start of the season can hopefully be forgotten .

Good to hear support for Santos and that he applauded fans at the end , although the sulky focussed version of him has benn brilliant and key to our improvement.

Th'East Midlands Whites are just back and drinking with cautious optimism. Fucking soaked though. As already mentioned it's been a topsy turvy league thus far (Brum excepted). Good mate is a Mansfield fan of long standing and so will be dead chuffed with their start - but will admit it won't last.

Everton , Leicester . it shouldnt be an issue but as long as those that remember are alive it always will be.

Just back. Wonderful performance to a man - shame about the last 5 minutes. Hopefully a little wake up call. Also, perhaps a bit lucky with the yellows for GT and Schon, but it's reet. We outclassed Northampton all over the pitch.

Minor point, I'm still a bit annoyed with Charles shooting from a daft angle when he could have squared to make it 5. But I mean... if that's the only grumble, we're onto something good. And I suppose it's showing a man in confidence!

Looking forward to Shrewsbury 😀

Edit... what the FUCK is Northampton's "Oh Christmas Tree" tune all about? Been in my bastard head all the way home. It's October.

Just got home. State of the M6 has really enthused me for Birmingham in a few weeks 🙃

Home for 1am, up for work and still hoarse at 6am.  That 90 minutes was as good an away performance as I think I've seen.  Only minor gripes was injury time and yes, the feckin M6 north. It's been shocking for years.

Yep I'd rather he stays sulking as he's been far better. Still has mistakes in him though, which is what we were saying against Huddersfield where he was good all the first half and then switched off for their goal.

TBF the first goal last night was a great cross and the main mistake is not cutting out the cross, but between Santos and Toal they can't let a striker get in-between them like that.

Second goal I guess is his job as the man in the middle tasked with heading away corners.

Thought Thomason was tremendous last night.

He never stopped talking, cajoling, and really was v good as the skipper.

Particularly liked him trying to smooth things over with the ref and Szabi, and do wonder if having a midfielder closer to the referee helps??

He seemed to be chatting to the ref a lot, in a pretty relaxed way, maybe sub consciously it helps with decisions?? Who knows, but definitely the right decision to give it to George from what I saw last night.

I agree, McAtee is also talker and very good at organising the press, he does a good Nolan, pointing out players to cover.

I also noticed Sheehan talking more which I don't recall seeing as much previously.
