They're getting volleyed next time

We are both talking about the dogs' owners, aren't we?

Dogs that are permanently on the lead don't get the opportunity to socialise and may become more insecure.

They're sociable creatures after all, but like people, will have disagreements with each other.

Aye, mine can be a nowty prick with other dogs when she is on the lead. But by and large she is sound with others when off it.

Absolutely.

Our human instinct is to keep our dog away from others at times, because of our own concerns.

Our dog then feels that, and behaves accordingly.

My lad is wary, and won't relax.

Ends up walking them on pavements by and large, on the lead.

A few might know Chris Howell who recently passed; his funeral yesterday, his lad is the landlord of the Stocks. Fuck me the last time I saw that many Wanderers shirts swathed in sunshine was in Sunny Beach 😂. Felt like a proper away game. Bonce has proper felt it today

I never have my dog on a lead ever. He's a fox red lab and doesn't bother with a single soul.

He walks just straight past people, never runs over to dogs fussing or owt.

If we do encounter dogs who don't fancy it, He soon fucks off if a dog has a pop.

Let em sort it out between themselves for me they're just animals.

This the one who nicked a full roast chicken from someone’s window ledge? 😂

Theres plenty of well behaved dogs like yours that are fine off the lead.

The issue many have is with those that aren't fine at all and should be on a lead as they can't be controlled or recalled by their owners.

I don't like the cocky cunts who walk their dog off the lead on a roadside

I want something to happen to make them regret it but where the dog isn't hurt

Add to that, a lot of people dont like, scared of, or misunderstand dogs.

And if it matters I like dogs btw.

That last sentence is exactly what I say, with the caveat that you have to be on hand in case it does get beyond growling and snapping.

Mines a greyhound so he never leaves my side. But he is prone to spotting a squirrel or cat and bolting after it. Fucker has caught a cat before so I have to keep him on the lead in public areas. Let him off the lead in a field and he just looks at me like I'm strange.

We have always walked our dog off the lead till it got old. She now totters along but on lead in case she decides to jump in a river and not be able to get out.

When she was much younger a staffy also off the lead came up sniffing , she growled saying get off me. 2 seconds later the staff had her head in her mouth. My missus kicked the other dog off her.

Other side, yoofs dog this week was off the lead and approached a dog on the lead which attacked her and split her ear open. The other dogs harness said ‘ nervous dog do not approach’ so tbf Yoofs fault mainly

I look after a Jack Russell regularly and he was fine off the lead with people and other dogs but regularly chases squirrels on Queens Park and catches them if they don't get to a tree quick enough. I let him off the lead on quiet roads out in the sticks until recently a fat ugly woman said she would boot him over a fence at the side of us if he came up to her. I informed her that I would boot her over the same fence if she even tried to do that. I do keep him on a lead on any road since that so I suppose she got her own way really 😡.

Today, in the Shires, we've had: Snow, Hail, Rain, Wind and now glorious sunshine

It is early spring, so hardly novel.

I've been fishing and working on gardens in April and been subject to exactly this.

Freezing hands and a hoody and coat hood combo on dog walks.

Then heat worthy of a sun hat 10 minutes later.

Well, Dave appears to be arriving slowly, but so far he's a bit powder puff.

Supposedly a lot worse further north though.

Picking up here now but nothing too heavy.

Been a long old bloody winter this.
