Just google it. Lasers on earth that connect with those mirrors on the moon surface are also constantly tracking the distance between moon and earth to the millimetre. That's why we know the moon is moving away from the earth by several centimetres each year. Eventually this will diminish the gravitational pull the moon has on the earth (and vice versa) which will adversely affect tides and the seasons, amongst other things. Luckily this should only become significant in thousands of years' time (providing the moon's movement remains at the current rate) Quote

Spider Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Noticed the moon gets a lot of impacts from meteors If they build a base for hoomans up there, what’s the chances of one landing on their heads? Quote
gonzo Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Not sure if this has been posted but it beats seeing if you can spot the Reebok or Blackpool Tower Quote

Marc505 Posted April 7 Posted April 7 How sad it is that this isn't the number one story and being given blanket 24/7 coverage. Its an incredible and inspiring achievement and one you'd hope would be being shown as a testament to human accomplishment. When they return and visit the WH, I wonder if Trump will lean into that, or whether he'll just use it as something to attack Biden or Harris or whoever else with. Quote
Nowack Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Its very very old and the lacks an atmosphere, water and a molten core so you don't get erosion or plates moving which change the landscape. Quote
