VAR you can debate the offside adjudications, but Liverpool goal the ref had blown, the game was stopped before the goal was scored. How the fuck can VAR overturn that, even though I think the ref fucked up, you can't even play to the whistle now without any certainty!! Fucking ruined football is..

So clear and obvious.

A player is yards offside. Goes on to score VAR rule it out because yards make it clear and obvious.
A body part, inches offside, takes away the benefit of the doubt to the attacker, which really ends up giving the defenders the advantage and they’re then not following their own rules of it being clear and obvious.

Handball at the beginning of the season was if it hits your hand/arm it’s handball. Accidental or otherwise. That rule is black and white.
There was an argument for Liverpool’s goal with Van Dijk handling it and Lallana as well. So the ref missed Van Dijk and play went on, Lallana was initially ruled out because the ref said he handled it. VAR Then took an age to make a decision and decided the goal stood. They had every angle and debated it for a long time. So how is that then a clear and obvious error by the ref?

Get fucking rid because a team will go down over a VAR decision or indecision mark my words.

But TV are only interested in the leading clubs; if Villa/Hammers/anyone else are relegated on a VAR decision it does not matter - some other cannon fodder will take their place.

Liverpool might finally get beaten by a VAR decision.
I could live with that 😁

Big difference between the two is Pennant didn't know where he'd left his car & Saunders was too pissed to drive his. 😊

Interesting stuff

And Oliver Holt is a cock

im sure rolling shutter affects the maths, that he's passing it upwards from the left means the ball comes into view in frame b earlier in its capture. gives sterling more leeway , i think .

its why telephone poles look curved on train journey films.

if you got super duper technical if you look proper into mpeg4 and the likes , it uses various predictions , info from previous frames and the likes to make up a 'frame' .

if the frame by frame sez hes offside by an inch , i'd think using lazers or whatever would prove it to be more.

theyre treating it like its einsteinian relativity , but its more to do with where peoples feet are.

If you need to be an expert in fucking trigonometry to determine if it’s on or offside then It’s not clear and and obvious enough said

Seems a good point

Thing is, you don't need a degree in physics to know about Paralax Error; The error/displacement caused in in the apparent position of the object due to the viewing angle that is other than the angle that is perpendicular to the object.

There is no room for parallax error in modern football

Reading online that the people who come up with the laws say the PL are using VAR incorrectly but aren't going to change anything, presumably because those already affected will moan like fuck or take action.

"If something is not clear on the first sight, then it's not obvious and it shouldn't be considered. Looking at one camera angle is one thing but looking at 15, trying to find something that was potentially not even there, this was not the idea of the VAR principle. It should be clear and obvious."
