The Sky money from this season and the parachute money is obscene though, keeps clubs afloat and just encourages over spending.  Any team coming up from championship signing new players will have relegation clauses written into their contracts, so they are probably safe from imploding (I want to say "unfortunately" but most fans dont deserve that crap that we went through, and those that cause it just walk away).

Villa fans are the exception to that rule.

Cunts to a man.

In my years living that way never met one that wasn't a twat. I think I knew at least one decent fan of the other west midlands teams, even the old gold bastards.

Not just me then.

I can’t stand many of them in the premiership but them lot just have an arrogance that is unmatched.

They genuinely think that they are one of the biggest clubs in the world. No humility in any of them.

That’s got to be the worst one so far. Glad we won’t be affected by this farce any time soon. Genuinely think we should just sack off offsides for a season and see how it goes. At worst, they’ve got to start using feet as the basis for decisions. How the fuck is it an advantage to have your armpit in front of your feet?

Exactly mate.

In the old days, offside was purely just for titliners on the half way line, not for having a tattoo shadow in front of the ball.

What a load of horseshit today's middle class cunting game has become.

I blame the Tories 😏

Boris doesn't mind a good tackle! Especially on the Germans.

I'd take the arrogance if they were winning things regularly.

Said the same moons ago, offsides are a joke a rule that you cannot referee with certainty has to go.

Problem, I guess, is that var does it with certainty

But nobody likes that certainly and we would prefer a minor error

Prob is, when does it stop being minor

12 inches?

Then it's 13 and everyone's up in arms again

It's so accurate that they could build some innacuracy into the VAR rules. If a player is within <insert arbitory distance here> then the attacking player will be adjudged to be onside. Then all the VAR bods will have their decision to make and not need a fucking micrometer and vernier guage.

But there is spurious accuracy. Are the touchlines and goallines at precisely 90 degrees or are they just a little askew? I'm quite surely they are almost right angles, and I'm equally sure that they are not exact right angles.

use GPS and lasers .

rather have a computer making the mistakes than some schoolteacher type that never ever thinks theyre wrong.

barry knight or a cray C90 making the mistakes ? i'll take floating point and rounding errors inaccuracy any day of the week.

that it undermines these sorts is even better..

and i'm pretty sure david sheepshanks isnt on first name terms with many Fortran programmers.

Wasn't VAR brought in to adjudicate where there was a clear and obvious error from the officials?

Or was it brought in to judge a player offside by 1mm at a part of his body he couldn't score with?

It's all bollocks and it will kill top-flight football for the fans.

Correct. But football at that level isn’t for the fans any more, unfortunately.

football referees are always solicitors or some such , they love telling folk what they cant do.

using video manned by someone else from a similar line of work , a policeman or summat , to overrule him , is like some kind of genius experiment.

give it six months and theyll be reflexively pissing on the rug at the sheer mention of the word offside.

ha ha

There are no rules in football
