I hope we can afford to sign Ameobi for the rest of the season. I don't think anyone knows if we have money for such deals or if we need approval. Or if a deal for the club is going to go through. Hopefully he stays training.

Holding was class, that run in the second half was begging for a goal, Pratley looks a different player along side trotter who was very effective. Silva was showboating at the end but who cares. Bring on dirty leeds.

Holding's effort would've been goal of the season.

Thought everyone had a blinder. Don't want to say he was shit, bucking the WW trend, but Mavies was our least effective player.

Was nice to see a game without the usual couple of suicidal defensive fuck-ups.

We can sign loans and free agents up to a wage of 10k a week. It's only money signings we can't sign at the moment - not that we'd be spending anyway

Can any club under embargo do that?

If so its like 10k is nowt

do you not need one out before one in?

I suppose medo might be an out

Really enjoyed today.

Feeney was superb. Holding could turn out to be a great player for us.

That goal by Ameobe saved us from a nervous last few minutes. Brilliant.

Come On You Whites!!!

He came in the Platinum after the match. He's loved it here despite the mayhem, and would like to stay if something can be worked out. The problem is, the club is currently struggling to pay players who are under contract

FWIW I offered Trevor Birch a tenner after Shola scored to go towards his wages

They were really poor, and if we go down they'll be with us but so what, just nice to come home on a Saturday night with that winning feeling.

Yes we should have killed them off 2nd half and the goal we gave away was a poor one but lots of positives and some big improvements, especially Trotter.

Holding's learning in a tough situation but did really well today, read things well and brought ball forward with confidence, especially that great run 2nd half.

Vital that we did win today and keep in touch, if we can find one or two more wins against those down in the doldrums with us, who knows?

FFP EMBARGOES

Any Championship club that is subject to an FFP embargo during the 2015/16 season will be prohibited from registering any new professional players (permanent contract or loan) unless they have:

• 24 or fewer established players (players aged 21 or over that have made at least 5 starting appearances for the club).

Where clubs have fewer than 24 established players, they will only be permitted to sign players in the following circumstances (with the player in question being added to the club’s list of established players regardless of his age or previous playing experience):

• Where the employee costs of a player being signed are less than £600,000 per annum (or pro-rata if signed on a shorter contract).

Where clubs have 24 established players, they will be permitted to trade on a ‘one out, one in’ basis but only if the employee costs of the player coming in to the club are no more than whichever is the lower amount of:

• 75% of the equivalent costs of the player going out.• Or a maximum of £600,000 per annum (or pro-rata if signed on shorter contract)

In addition:

• Clubs under an FFP embargo will not be permitted to pay (or commit to pay) transfer fees or compensation fees for professional players.• Clubs under an FFP embargo will be permitted to sign a goalkeeper on an emergency basis (in line with existing regulations).• Clubs under an FFP embargo will not be permitted to pay a loan fee to another club, they may only pay the player’s wage (or a contribution towards it).• For incoming players, clubs can only pay Agents’ Fees as a benefit in kind to the player in question (as long as they do not exceed the £600,000 employee costs limit). • Clubs under an FFP embargo may register players under the age of 21 for non-first team matches.

Just a thought, but would it not be best to keep Ameobi, and shunt Heskey?

I'd hope Heskey will think he's had a good enough run and walk away from the remainder of his contract to take up full time TV work and allow us to keep Ameobi for the rest of the season. Wishful thinking maybe.

On the subject of Wor Shola, it was a quality finish and hopefully such a quick turnaround will be a big confidence boost.

Top drawer performance from all concerned. The effort from Feeney, Pratley and Trotter was unreal and Holding was like Lothas Matthaus at times.

Silva was unplayable for the last 40 minutes or so, just wish he'd cut out the rolling about. Thought he was joining us in NSL at one stage he'd rolled so far.

Yes MK were poor but that gives me hope that they're at least one team we could catch.

I can see Holding being signed by a big club out of the blue, like Smalling was.

Was superb today. Didn't realise he was so quick, but that run down the wing was incredible.

Way better than John Stones.

Certainly got something about him, reads the game well, made a couple of really good interceptions today and looks balanced and confident bringing the ball forward. Tough baptism for him in our side and current situation but the experience will do him good in the long term

Big question is when Wheater is fit again, but for me Holding should certainly keep his spot. A player to build around next season if we can keep hold of him, regardless of which division we're in.
