The boy has become disillusioned this season. Nothing makes me happier than seeing his face at the final whistle, and the unbridled joy at hearing Quo. Sadly, this has not happened anywhere near enough in the last 12 months.

 

He is unwell, slight temperature, and didn't leave the house yesterday. I asked him, all things considered, whether he still wants to go. His bemused response was;

 

'Yes Daddy, it's our thing'

 

This is what matters to me; no matter how shite it is on the field, as long as there is one of us passionate and prepared enough to get behind the team, I'll be there.

 

The thought of not going never entered his head, and didn't seriously enter mine... It's like an illness.

 

We may well get dicked, the money could no doubt be better spent elsewhere, but fuck it...
