Marc505 Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 Excellent day and result - wish we could start scoring some goals right in front of our travelling support like, but can't complain! Quote
frank_spencer Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 He's hasn't though has he, was dropped and got back when spearing got injured. As a general rule we've achieved better results when he's not played. He's played 4 first team games since Oxford, we won 3 and he scored the winning goal in one of them.I really can't see the hatred directed towards him, especially this season. He's a solid enough squad player who granted wouldn't get in a first choice 11 with Spearing, Davies, Vela being the probable midfield 3 imo Quote
onlyoneawalker Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 The clubs moved on great strides and many a player Madine spearing wheater etc have shown what they can do in a confident team but trotter is still fucking shite imo Quote

Tonge moor green jacket Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 He's played 4 first team games since Oxford, we won 3 and he scored the winning goal in one of them. I really can't see the hatred directed towards him, especially this season. He's a solid enough squad player who granted wouldn't get in a first choice 11 with Spearing, Davies, Vela being the probable midfield 3 imo He played in the cup against a lower league team. A game that we didn't perform overly well in. He played against Cheltenham. He started against Peterborough. Since oxford he's hardly played league games and we've been significantly better. Why is it hatred because folk think he's shite? Wish him well- preferably at another club. Quote
tomski Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 Big shout out to Peter Rabbit the limited edition coin. Who has been to 10 games now and seen 10 wins. The only 2 he has missed are Cheltenham and Peterborough???? Quote
GeorgeOghani'sIroningBoard Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 Whilst folk slag off Vela, a moderate player with no pretentions, you only have to look at Northampton so recall a really shite player in the Wanderers shirt. Matt Taylor has made a career out of a screamer every 100 games with 99 poor games in between, most with zero effort. Journeyman shithouse always glad to take some mug team's money. Quote
Zico Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 23 screamers in 123 games isn't bad He wasnt really shite for us Or a journeyman We were his 3rd club Quote
jules_darby Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 23 screamers in 123 games isn't bad He wasnt really shite for us Or a journeyman We were his 3rd club And Just screamers? He worked his bollocks off down the left and we missed him when he left Sometimes the mind boggles Quote
RUREADY2ROLL Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 And Just screamers? He worked his bollocks off down the left and we missed him when he left Sometimes the mind boggles He was one of their better players yesterday and provided some good deliveries to which their front men did not take advantage of His time with us was hit and miss and mostly miss IMO (And I used to go those days home and away) Quote
frank_spencer Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 Matt Taylor was a brill player for us. I'm sure there was a stand that he was involved in the vast majority of our goals during his time here. Quote
Marc505 Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 I liked Matt Taylor for us. Underappreciated. Quote
kent_white Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 Yeah - another vote for Taylor here. We all see a different game I guess. Quote
SalfordOriginal Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 Another plus for me, mainly for his 2 goals late on away at Stoke Quote
Zico Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 I'll say by the end of his last season with us he was past his PL best, got slow and chunky, think he'd had glandular fever or something but till then he was a good un Maybe one of megson's best signings Along with Muamba And Klasnic Quote
bolton va va Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 No problem with Matt Taylor from me, a good steady team player & i'll always remember the dipping, spinning , swerving free kick he scored from around 60 yards out at West Ham. I didn't actually realise he was playing yesterday. Quote
Biggish Dave Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 I was never Taylor's biggest fan but didn't dislike either. Thought he was better than average but nothing special. Quote
darrener Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 Taylor and hoskins whipped some great balls into the box second half, I liked Taylor and he got a decent reception from the travelling fans Quote
darrener Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 I liked him even more when he smacked that shot over the bar in the last minutes Quote
MalcolmW Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 Football needs more Matt Taylors I presume you are making the point that there are 3, plus another in the USA, plus 3 cricketers and a rugby player, etc. Also I remember listening to a commentary on a Tranmere v Wolves Friday night match where the crowd were singing "there's only one Scott Taylor" when in fact there was one on each team.
