Hopefully we can sing a song about the size of his cock.

Ooh that will make a changeĀ

Love a good cock song 🄓

Hopefully he’s laying them off for Collins & McAtee to twat in from edge of the box & not permanently joining Desmond, Mendes, Demps & Forino on the exercise bikes.Ā

I was watching the most recent series of that salford doc

Ep3 and their top scout chap is at barnsley

Watching Southwood

I watched that and thought it strange.

Southwood came highly rated. It seemed odd that Salford would think they had a chance of signing him! Although a small operation, you'd think Salford would have enough intel not to watch players beyond their reach. Equally, we've bought someone who isn't good enough for our level.

Having seen him, i think he's up to it. Great with his feet and definitely brings something to our team. Hard to compare to Baxter this season simply due to the weirdness of the season so far!

When he's not injured he seems like he could be what we're looking for as he can hold the ball under pressure, is pretty quick when he needs to be, has good feet and brings other players into the game. Useful defensively too.

Just doesn't score many himself.

You sound like you've seen him play a lot?

Based on his actual goal scoring record, the games I've watched and my discussions on the fan forums.

And Youtube TBF :)

I haven't - mainly EFL highlight shows, press reviews, fans forums etc but you can learn a lot about players styles and characteristics from other people as well as the media. Even as a 16 year old making his debut for NC he did a decent job of hold up play against big CBs but now he's a big mobile lad and that's been missing from our squad for a while now. I suspect he could be good for us if his hammie is sorted.

I'd never heard of him till this morning and honestly couldn't tell you his name now as I type this without scrolling up to see it.

Ā

I do try to keep an eye out for emerging talent but I'm often way off the mark - I thought Samizadeh would be a good 'un for example :)

I was on about Joe Taylor a few years back when I saw him banging them in in a local Norwich league before he signed for King's Lynn - obviously a natural finisher despite being a midget but he was anonymous for Huddersfield the other day.

A few go on to do good things, but there's a huge difference between being a talented kid and making it.

Still Etete is a big mobile lad with decent skills so he'll always be useful.

Eddie Ekolo would be my guess without cheating. Gonna scroll up now and see how I've done...

Ā

Update: Hahahaha, had to go back a page.Ā Kion EteteĀ šŸ˜‚

Is this likely to be Markham signing this lad?

Possibly. If you did a search using the key words "striker" "tall" "mobile" "hold-up" "pace" "strong" etc etc you'd probably come up with Etete. Unfortunately "injured" and "goal scoring" were probably not in the search criteria he used.

Sure Eddie Ekolo played for Wimbledon in the 90s :D

Aasgaard (finally) off from Wigan. Off to Luton for £3m.
Ā

PNE had an offer rejected for their keeper, Tickle too.Ā
Ā

when you look at that Ā£3m and the rumoured Ā£6m offer for that Kone at Wycombe whose only been in the league 6 months, does it again bring in to question how little we let our players go for…

Can probably get odds on him signing now he's been mentioned on here, even though he doesn't exist.

Sounds promising that they are losing their better players. Always sold well that lot and Blackburn.Ā

It probably just proves players who are much younger with years left to run on their contract attract higher fees

Absolutely a factor. But I do think we set our expectations a bit low. Sometimes..Ā

but we then reject a reported £1m for Victor so fuck knows 🤣
