Thought as much

I wonder how many larger towns have never had a club in the 2nd tier?

That begs the question of what constitutes a town.

As Rochdale is nowadays an Metropolitan Borough with a latest census population of 211k,  the following larger ones have not reached the second tier:

Wakefield (325k), Dudley (312k), Salford (233k) and Tameside (219k).

Sefton had Bootle in Div 2, but only for 1892-93, when they failed to gain re-election despite finishing 8th of 12, letting in Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle U, etc.

I don't believe choice is bust or mediocre.

Your can speculate to accumulate at little. Nothing wrong with a little calculated risk.

Asset stripping (not that I'm saying this is the plan) may as well be administration as far as the fans are concerned.

Ken talks a good game and I'm on his side currently. But shit turns very fast. Ask deano.

I didn't go last night so can only go off what I read in his programme notes and other stuff that gets reported, but I've no cause to be concerned about Ken. After all the madness and chaos he inherited, his measured approach to the task in hand, and his straightforward communication of what he can are reassuring.

His appointment of PP will be looked back upon as a seriously astute move in due course

Do we know who the 11 are? - are they strong enough to build a team around?

If the list I've seen is accurate then no, seeing as three of them are goalkeepers.

Howard

Alnwick

Amos

Osede

Beevers

Vela

Pratley

Taylor

Clough

Proctor

Wilkinson

The list doesn't include youth players obviously but then none of them are particularly ready for regular games.

Malc if you're accepting Met Boroughs now then I assume that you are now going to admit that GM exists?

In what context does it exist? There's no over-riding control from a Greater Manchester authority. It might exist in terms of police and fire but that's it

You could say Hull is in East Yorkshire but East Riding council doesn't cover Hull. Humberside doesn't exist apart from again in police and fire brigade and the Lincolnshire areas that were linked have their own identity
