Threatening folk who don’t vote for you.

Aye, that’s where we are at boys and girls.

Bunch of cunts

At the end of the day these are LOCAL GOVERNMENT elections and we vote on a local level for whoever we feel will represent our daily interests best, almost irrespective of parties.

Nationalistic politics can F off along with Reform and Greens and whoever/whichever pillock is trying to rule the world for his/her self betterment... get them all up against the wall and move on is what I say

Multiculturalism and international socialism are fundamentally at odds.

End it here. No point.

But we all know many/most will not treat it like this. The chance to encourage the sword of Damocles to fall on a self centred failure.

ATM on here it is like watching someone tied to a chair squirming as the hypodermic is approaching.

Another good article describing Reform’s finances and how Farage has been “bought”. Also indicates in a General Election how as PM he would appoint ministers who are not MPs. Basically its all pure Trump.

I agree with Bolty for once that most folk (sadly) vote on national issues in local elections. Well, this is the world that awaits us all (myopic Aussie expats aside of course) if all voters are thinking about are small boats when they put their cross on the ballot slips. You’ll get what you deserve but sadly drag the rest of us down with you. Divided communities, privatised NHS, tax cuts for the rich, accelerated climate change to name a few.

What happens if everyone votes green instead?

What time on Friday do the boats stop?

To be fair to Labour they have done well regarding the boats in Salford. I’ve not seen any dinghies in Salford quays or Worsley canal.

😀

Did occur to me- the obvious end point.

Nevertheless, we all know that they won't win everything, and it may  be a clever ploy.

Poorer, former industrial towns, and traditional red wall areas, have tended to be areas where more migrants have been housed. The lure of some extra cash.

The Green and Reform parties are vying for these traditional votes.

It could backfire of course, with a "fuck you" response.

We'll see soon enough.

On our local Facebook page there is a pretty high % who are voting to get rid of Kier.

We have a Liberal Councillor at the moment and we get a newsletter of them every 2 or 3 months saying what they are doing and asking what else they should be doing. The rest we are lucky if they can even be arsed during election week.

It is a bit of a stereotype but I have always thought of Liberals as a bunch of well meaning busy bodies, which is pretty much the job description for a local Councillor.

We open the borders, scrap defence spending, tax the rich and give out free money to everyone so we all live happily ever after.

Or something like that 🙄.

No thanks.

Taking this to its logical endpoint, if you vote Reform you are backing Fagash’s view that we should move to an insurance based healthcare system.

Therefore everybody living in a constituency with a Reform MP should be immediately denied access to the NHS

When I lived in Smithills in the late 80s/early 90s, not far from where you used to live that’s exactly what they were. Busybodies knocking on doors asking how the local area could be improved. Fair play they got in and made the changes that folk wanted and stayed voted in on the council for a good while. Don’t remember that vote ever transferring to the general elections though

Very much this, the reasons for choosing who you vote for at National and Local level should be very different.

Our local elected councilors (Independents) have served Atherton for 14 years and are doing a bloody good job. Local lads who are always on the go especially at weekends, everyone knows the GE will be a whole new ball game, it is going to be a difficult choice when the time comes

Oldham council is bent as a nine bob note. If you live outside the central OL area they don’t care. Where we are, we have a Manc postcode, a Manc telephone code but are part of Oldham council and see nowt happening. The local independents were brilliant. Got good representation on the council and finally stuff started to happen. And then the “splitters”. Petty fucking politics. Peoples Front of Judea type shite. Split the vote and lost all representation. So many Reform signs now round here supporting the “Judean Peoples Front” who represent the “new” independents. And backwards we go…..
