Bigtoe Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 Local company around here called fiddlers Lancashire crisps they are also ace. This is the correct answer and everyone else is wrong. Even tells you who cooked them. Usually Big Bob. Quote

jules_darby Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 Kettle chips are the most overrated crisps by a mile Quote
tomski Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 Another for squares and pickled onion monster munch. Great crisp that are good throughout the test of time. Current phase of enjoying Thai sweet chilli mccoys. Standard walkers are the most boring crisp going. They used to do a pack in sensations called lamb and mint which I'd buy in boxes if they ever come back. Pringles are a disgrace to crisp. Quote

Nothing wrong with Walkers, though Golden Wonder were superior Anyone who actively chooses ready salted crisps is the type to only have sex in the missionary position, wear Superdry and think Ed Sheeran is edgy Quote

jules_darby Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 (edited) Pickled onion monster munch Scampi fries Seabrook prawn cocktail Seabrook are class. Strong flavouring Im sure when I was a kid you could only get them from vending machines at the swimming baths Only criticism is that they aren’t overly robust so a more than acceptable proportion is often crumb Edited July 6, 2018 by jules_darby Quote

Jol_BWFC Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 Another vote for Salt n Vinegar McCoys. Thick, plenty of flavour and a classic taste. At the opposite end of the spectrum - salt and shake. Crap crisps and you have to salt them yourself! Half of them ended up tasting of nothing and the other half too salty. And they break up when giving them a proper rattle around. Quote

Leyther_Matt Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 Oh and lays when abroadIn a bar in Toronto last week, we saw Kettle Chips on the menu so ordered some. Thought it was weird when they cost $4 and were taking ages to arrive, until it turned out that they were actually making and cooking the crisps in the kitchen from scratch. Absolute game changer. I’ve vastly reduced how many bags of crisps I eat so now that they’ve become a rare treat I generally head straight from the Max’s paprika or steak McCoy’s. Quote

L/H White Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 Just me that used to put s&v hula hoops on my fingers, suck the taste off then just let the crisp perish? Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 I like pickled onion flavoured crisps too, but the stuff in jars are rank I’m partial to pickled onion monster munch and there cheap. Cannot fathom the price of crisps these days I only buy multi packs on offer. Quote
