Pet hate of mine that, fucking dress code, I take it you and your dad were of a similar size?

Got turned away from the pack horse once (mid 90's) because the prick of a bouncer said I had trainers on, they where actually next shoes! I wrote to them and told them I had taken the next shoes back to next because they were trainers, and next assured me they were casual shoes. Never been in since, at least some things have changed for the better.

no...

also used to hear two stories of Ritzy back in the day

1) folk would put socks over their non conforming shoes to fool the bouncers into thinking they were black shoes

2) someone left a bag of shoes and shoe polish by the bins round the corner for anyone to use in case of emergency

What a whopper that caller was.

Yes, it's a choice not to have it. Fine, whatever.

But don't whine if the people who've chosen to have it don't want you anywhere near them.

And if, as is likely, the majority of people have it, then you're probably going to end up on the wrong side of democracy eventually.

Anti-vaxxers are going to have to get used to being a minority whose choices are reduced by their decision.

A bit like being a vegan. Again, fine. But don't complain when I've got chicken fat running down my chin.

I completely agree

but

I do often wonder if some of those calls are staged to make people look very stupid, or for JOB to come across really well and the voice of reason

the only people I know who listen to LBC are the type of people who agree with JOB (actually, the only one I know is my mrs)

all he ever seems to do is make people look stupid

does he really have regular listeners that are that thick and ring up to take him on? because they never win

Sorry to hear that mate. Condolences to all the family.

Thx Ian. Followed my other Aunty who passed in first wave aged 92. Sad thing is no Aunties or uncles left now, only Dad who’s struggling at 88, they all made Christmas for me as a kid, and sad when they’ve gone, for the younger crowd on here, enjoy them to the full while they are here.

He addresses that accusation on a regular basis. The average radio phone-in caller is just thick as mince.

Did they write back?

Ive fallen foul of the dress code a few times, the last time was squires in Preston because I was wearing rockports, they eventually relented when I agreed to take the tags off.

My mate works for a large pharma research company. His view is that the only thing that stops any vaccine being tested and ready as quickly as this one is money. The more money you throw at it the quicker it gets tested and approved. That’s all that’s happened here. We’ve thrown billions at it and it’s pushed it to the front of the queue. It’s undergone the same checks as any other vaccine would.

As well as that you need to be able to recruit a large enough number of patients into the trials to make the statistical analysis relevant and that takes time

Trump's going to even more pissed today, beaten to 1st by the Brits 🙂

Well

Theres a minor rumour going round that we’ve got it first “just in case” deliveries from Belgium are held up at the lorry park in Kent.

Seems unlikely, but it’s not without merit.

Id like to think that we’re just by far the greatest team the world has ever seen

Looks like Britain will be getting large doses of the Vaccine before EU countries. Who’d of thunk it

The MHRA have fast-tracked the supply of the vaccine whilst working within EU Laws, which still apply until January. Anyone who claims "we couldn't have done this if we were still in the EU!!" is either a liar or doesn't understand reality. I suppose when you're scraping the barrel for the slightest possible positive to take from Brexit, you will grasp at anything - whether it's true or not.

Obviously yes. But they have got enough people to do so by offering sufficient remuneration for doing so. Which then goes back to having the money to get this done.
