Just got a letter off Bozza I know its mass produced but it’ll be a historic momento to keep and show kids and grandkids in years times.

Yeh got mine. Anyone elses hand written and personally addressed, then signed by Boris himself? Thought not - as you were.

we got ours yesterday, I didn't even open it, I just chucked it in the recycling  - I'd not even considered people would want to keep them

936 overall today

Spain's record was 950 and Italy's 969 so we are very much in their territory now

In fact, we need to plateau NOW to stay in line with them. I'm sure there will be people along with alternative facts to dispute this though

light at the end of the tunnel

Started reading that thread, thinking, just tell me when the fucking pub opens. (18th May apparently)

To be honest, I think that’s all I’m really missing, shallow bastard that I am.

My Great grandma has a letter from the queen that thanked her for her contributions to British society following the Windrush program she was a midwife for 30 years. As well as a letter from the queen when she turned 100.

They were probably generic letters but I like little bits of history like that, good and bad.

Being a republican, I’m going to make sure I die the day before my 100th birthday just so the monarch of the day has to waste a stamp

Bad couple of days in Germany. 254 deaths today and number of  infections risen 2 days in a row after 4 previous days of dropping

Where is that figure coming from ? I haven't seen it reported yet. You also have to keep in mind that there are currently around 5000 people in Germany classed as being in a critical condition so the numbers should be expected to be high at the moment. In my Landkreis which is about 110,000 people in total there have been 3 deaths and around 450 infected, and we are in Bavaria which has the highest numbers in Germany.

Keep a look at infection rates though. Whilst they're going up, the rate of increase is decreasing.

So long as that continues then the peak will pass and deaths will gradually follow.

OK. that's behind then because in Germany the official figure is 2096 as of 15:00 today, and that is with 50 deaths reported today. Their figures are lower than reality !
