Ghana White
Am I losing it?? Everyone remembers tranmere pumping out fake crowd noises but didnt city do it one year against us? From what I remember they did it once and never did it again as it go such a bad reception from the home fans?? I'm sure I've taken the piss out of city fans since for it.. worried this is a lockdown hallucination

tkonion
Not sure of the year but it was when we robbed them with that 1-0 and Stuart Pierce was sniffing Big Sam's arse.

Didn’t they hit the bar 6 times? Speed last minute pen?
tkonion
That's the game that I remember the crowd noise being played in, 1-0 win against the run of play for us and, yes, it was the late Speedo penalty.
jmjhb
Still better than those vuvuzelas from World Cup 2010
QFPants
They pumped in the crowd chanting Psycho iirc

Moderators Zico Posted May 30, 2020 Moderators Share Posted May 30, 2020 they def did it about 15 years ago this article would suggest they still do, but liverpool definitely don't https://www.givemesport.com/1471446-video-claiming-to-show-liverpool-play-crowd-noise-through-speakers-is-from-stadium-tour
Eddie
They definitely did it, it was either the Speed penalty game or the game we won with Anelka scoring. From what I can remember it was a “come on Citeh” chant - which we ripped the shit out of them for.
BWFC_LOVE
Certainly heard it in the 1-0 Speed penalty game. Also heard this happen at Huddersfield in a 3-0 win in 2000.

Blondi
I remember Arsenal playing in front of fake fans at Highbury. https://www.whoateallthepies.tv/arsenal/269031/retro-football-the-highbury-mural-when-arsenal-really-did-play-in-front-of-plastic-fans-1992-photos.html
Mannyroader
They are doing it on some of the current Bundesliga games, fair enough considering the circumstances. Monchengladbach game today had a big crowd of personalised cardboard cutout fans. I think they have paid 20 Euros each for the privelege. Would anyone pay for theirs to be up at the Unibol, bearing in mind the club could do with the revenue?

With some of the football we've witnessed in recent years, I reckon the cutouts would move more.

Someone would definitely set flares off in their living room if we did this.
