Farage, arsehole though he is, did ask valid questions there and deserved better answers

Anyway, I note Italy has now rejected the possibility of their troops forming any part of a peacekeeping force

I think that's now Italy, Germany, and Poland

Farage would make the UK a vassal state to the US so the only answer he deserves is fuck off you twat.

Someone asks a very valid question but because you don’t like him we don’t get an answer? Is this where we are at now?

True - I think it was a reasonable question too. Although I doubt it's possible to give him a proper answer in the absence of any agreement being signed. KS - could have just said that.

Yeah - it's probably a combination of everything. I imagine there's been a bit of a nudge from Starmer and Macron. Plus the fact that Europe is mobilising and developing it's own peace plan. DT is probably worried about having the rug pulled from under him (and no mineral deal). He's going to want to take any credit clearly. I'm not particularly bothered as long as it gets sorted, but it's been nice seeing Europe and our own PM getting on the front foot.

I just hope VS stays true to his principles and doesn't cave in, just because he feels like he's no choice. Which is still a possibility.

We'll see soon enough if he's caved in, but there would seem little point in agreeing to mineral rights, without security provisions.

Moreover, American investors won't open their purse strings without them.

This. It is far too early to even estimate never mind if it will be needed to do so and Farage knew that anyway. Starmer should have said something along those lines really. The whole mood of the house was very much against Farage yesterday.

He is as dangerous to UK democracy as Trump is in the states.

Seems so.

Another ignoramus on the rationale behind the reform party.

There is clearly concern over their performance amongst the big two parties, and that's why they are taking the opportunity to have a dig; even though the attack lines are disingenuous.

Nevertheless, it is a situation that Farage et al will have to navigate carefully.

In asking his question, he leaves himself open to that comeback, and the accusation.

The fact that he's been very critical of the lack investment in the military previously, is conveniently overlooked.

But that's politics.

It always is!

Even Conservative mps with some compatible beliefs won't stick their head above the parapet readily, especially on something like this.

Let’s have a look at Farage’s greatest hits. Brexit. Fanboy for Trump. Blames everything on immigration. Uses social media to instigate riots after Southport attack. It’s thinly disguised BNP and would make the UK a vassal state for America if he ever got in. Vote for that if you want.

Probably because people are witnessing what happens when people like him end up in positions of power - and in real time.

Truth has gone with all these people and it’s really dangerous. It’s so hard to make clear what the facts are once these things have done the rounds on social media. Trump is like a wrecking ball to world order.

Pretty valid really. Two of them would be reluctant to have troops marching through Europe and the other may not want to be too provocative.

Heard a Ukrainian on the radio say that living under Russian rule isn’t Peace.

Sums it up for me really.

Putin’s goals haven’t changed. He wants all of Ukraine or a Russian puppet government running the place.

Letting him leave with significant land gains will only help him achieve those goals.

I expect they will pressure VZ to step down as part of any deal.

Trump has personal beef with him that seems to be clouding his judgement. Because his personal pride is the most important thing at stake here after all! 😁

Part and parcel of the same rhetoric.

If they really want the minerals, they'll do it.

If VZ really wants all the aid and assistance, he'll do it.

Like a bloody fencing match.

Still a cunt's trick IMHO

No reason this couldn't have been kept in place while they do some sorting.

His figures are way off.

Doesn’t matter. The MAGA bellends believe everything that comes out of his gob.

No different to here though.

Politicians will keep repeating the same thing over and over until it becomes gospel. Doesn't matter whether it is true, bollocks or somewhere in between.

Whilst that was just words

tory chancellors took actions.

The Resolution Foundation calculates that the mini-budget cost the UK Treasury £30bn, the Truss government caused roughly that amount of the fiscal hole which the Treasury claims is £60bn.
