Don’t the Aussies play a flat back four?  
 

If so not sure people can’t expect him to be playing like a wing back.

They do play a flat back four but in a 433 so there is space ahead of him to play in.

Speaking at training on Monday, however, the Bolton Wanderers man said that he'd been cleared of any major damage to his groin, which he had first had issues with after Australia's group stage win over Syria, and that he would be available for Friday. "All clear," he said. "Just a bit of fatigue

It's a big shift to go from this to not being in the squad at all with injury.

Seems a strange one
