Just now, Tommy Banks said:

According to Nixon tomorrow is huge, if Bassini doesn’t get it sorted then admin is a strong possibility

Tomorrow is always huge with Nixon, then it’s back to square one a week later. Anyway I hope it’s true that tomorrow is Bassini’s efl approval day. Doubt we’d hear from the EFL if he fails it though.

BSA just been on Talksport. Stated he’s been contacted by a couple of interested consortiums about a role.

Each proposal talked about restructure of the business side. Non of it about the football to which he said he isn’t interested then

think he’d be on board if someone pitched it right

Consortium: Sam would you be interested?

Sam: Will you be chucking a load of cash at it?

Consortium: No we will be trying to implement a sustainable business model so the club does not end up in this position again.

Sam: Not my bag anymore.

Sam's idea  of 'a sustainable business model' was to borrow millions from Ray Ranson, spend it on players and agents and then pay it off over the next twenty-five years. You'll find it all in his book but here's a bit about Ranson on Wikipedia:'

Ranson's playing career ended due to injury in 1995.[4] A year later he took a job working for Benfield Greig, the insurance company owned by Chelsea director Matthew Harding.[4] Ranson invested heavily in the company, and sold his stake for several million pounds in 2002. He then started a venture, funding football transfers on a sale and leaseback basis, including several deals with Leeds United chairman Peter Ridsdale.[5]'

If someone gave him a big paycheque and loads of wonga to spend/waste on players then sure....

But we need to actually have a club in a few years rather than chase fantasy. Disappointing that even now Allardyce is too far up his own arse to see reality.
