Pretty much every player now has 1-1 and group work over the off season, so McAtee is no different there. He just likes to post about it on social media! I hope you're right about him wanting to change people's perceptions though. I'm a little sceptical as he could have made that decision at any point last season, but let's see. Unfortunately for him, he's slightly easily led, and when Evatt created the old boys club at the start of last season, a certain culture permeated through the coaching staff (aside from Gilks (still the only one of them to find new employment)) and fed into some of the team. McAtee was part of this. I don't think him and Collins (and Lolos) were a particularly good influence on each other and McAtee could never really get himself fit. He's a local lad and I'd love him to make it with us. I do think there is some talent there, and I do think he can be effective playing off a strong centre forward. But it's fair to say this season is a big one for his career.

Need a clean slate on all those Schuey decides to keep. Folk can balloon about getting rid all summer but needs drawing a line underneath and judge on this season

I find a lot of this OTT criticism of Sheehan a bit staggering. I do agree he doesn't go into tackles as hard as he should sometimes. However, I don't think he can ever be accused of going into hiding. The problem we have is that EVERYTHING had to go through him and that was clearly down to Evatt's instructions. All the opposition had to do was put two men on him. I'm not sure what Sheehan was supposed to do about that? We saw it time and time again where Santos was stood on the ball because he couldn't play it to him. He's by far our most comfortable player at taking the ball under pressure and it's up to the manager to get the best out of him and his teammates.
  4. Yeh, seems they announced it advance. Imagine the conversation: Supreme Leader Khamenei: "Aye up Donald, just to say we're going to be lobbing some ballistics your way." The Don: "How many?" SLK: "Yes, that's my name". "Now then cockers, don't worry we just need to be seen to be windmilling a bit" "Be over in time for me to watch Seattle Sounders v PSG tonight. Got a few cans in and everything" Don: "Did I ever tell you I was voted bestest soccer player in the school three years running? If it hadn't been for them pesky bone spurs I'd have turned pro". SLK: "Aye, well must fly. Bit like my missiles".

Yep. I'm expecting to see a very different team next season, even if some of the faces are the same as last. Hopefully Schumacher has already identified the bad apples and is in the process of getting rid. No way Collins would have gone if his attitude was right.
  6. I doubt I'd get an answer, I'll just dismiss them as cranks instead whipping up a false racism frenzy for the hard of thinking
  7. So, it's old news... This ad for the internship is from 2023 for an 11-month placement in 2024 (2026 bursaries are at £25,300). It's the Stuart Ross Communications Internship and is aimed at increasing the number of people from under-represented groups entering in the Public Relations, Communications and Marketing industries. It's just one of a number of internships available at TfL and as with many similar programs across the country, each role is targeted at a certain section of society.
  8. Was asked if I could go to Marbella with work on the 11th for the day, well before the game was announced. I Told the gaffer on Saturday about the game so he’s booked me on the earliest flight so I can get to it. Happy days.

Club presentation yesterday- me, my assistant coaches, a couple of academy kids who have come through the club, and about 70% of the kids I coach each week! wish somebody had told me about my collar
  11. Yesterday the lives of the family and those close to Chris changed forever, as he passed away on holiday in Marrakesh. Some might have known him as@CSW on here, he posted occasionally. He had the odd foray away with the Anthill Mob too. He was my best BWFC mate and I travelled the country with him watching the whites. We ran our lads football team at Moss Bank for 10 years Going to the game won’t quite be the same again. RIP pal

Yeah I’m not bothered what he does to be honest. Just glad it’s a signing we didn’t look at.

  15. Diamond of a man, like yourself mate. Thoughts to his lovely family. RIP Chris

Sheehan also has a good shot and finish, which was woefully underutilised under Evatt’s defensive midfield role. A more advanced role, with Morley and Simons behind him, would likely see the best of him. in a list of players to leave, Sheehan is quite low down for me.
  17. Iran know full well they’re taking a knife to a gun fight. It’s flyswatting for the yanks. That’ll be that I’d imagine. They’ll just let Israel carry on chipping away at the mullahs.

Not sure why you won't answer your own stupid debate question. He never said repeatedly ... he was using a figure of speech. Like ... "Folk never tire of running rings around LondonWanderer on WW" Do you think its possible to repeatedly slap someone and never tire?

He's a forward. You can't really get more advanced than a forward. He's a forward that likes to drop a bit deeper but he's not a midfielder. The problem was when you play Collins and mcatee together,Collins drifts out wide and mcatee drops deeper. So nobody was the focal point. Too many times there wasn't enough bodies in the box. They weren't suited to play together. At least with Dalby , he will be the focal point and Mcatee or whoever can play off him.

Certainly wasn’t hungry last season , looked well overweight. Also runs like he’s shit himself, when he’s not pointing and shouting at folk. Would love to get rid of the useless prick.
  21. When I worked at a larger international agency, we had very similar internships to get people into comms, marketing and media as people from poorer backgrounds are hugely underrepresented- not because they aren't good enough, but because there is lack of knowledge about how to get into these types of jobs (or that they even exist) if you aren't going down a traditional university route. Was great for loads of kids who have gone on to have great careers they wouldn't have had knowledge of. Basically, it was their university.
  22. Yes the original post was right, No matter how many times you and cheese tried to dispel it with cropped images, different job applications or whataboutery for Bolton people working in the NHS 😉😂

Furry muff. No issue with that. I just don't understand when posters such as TMGJ accuse him of going into hiding, not putting the effort in, whingeing about being tackled, etc. What I see is a player who always wants the ball, regardless of where he is on the pitch and who is up his arse, so to speak. That's not a quality too many of our players have. The only criticism I'd have, and it is a fair one, is that a couple of times last season he bottled out of 50/50 challenges that led to us conceding ... but I'd not be wanting shut of him because of that. How many times last season did we concede because we had players not bother to try and win a header further up the pitch, or because they tried a stupid, fancy flick rather than ensuring we kept the ball, or because they couldn't be arsed busting a gut to close a man down or track him back. A lot of folk often forget how many times last season Sheehan was our last defender and got the rest of the AWOL defence and midfield out of the shit.

McAtee's hungry to impress this season. Hated how he was perceived last season and wants to make it here. He's been having 1-1 and group fitness work all summer. Not sure Schumacher likes him personally, as he can be "hard work" but he's going to make a fist of it this season. I think we need to back him.

  30. Modern war! Who needs drones. 😂 The Don
  31. Would make sense, Darryl Clarke is the manager at Rovers and he was manager at Cheltenham when Southwood was there.
  32. Yeah. Let’s do it. How much £20? league only as well. Not arsed about noddy cup
  33. Isn't Ant Middleton one of these proper patriots who want to Make Britain Great Again and protect it from a muslamic takeover who've fucked off to live in Dubai?
  34. Managed by Darrell Clarke, his manager at Cheltenham
  35. Only one of them was awarded a Nobel peace prize 🤔😂
  36. And it was nowt about perception. His attitude stinks. It is exactly how it was. He’s a wrong un who we should be offloading asap.
  37. Fuck that. He’s shit and indicative of everything that was wrong with last season.
  38. Well, it does make a bit of a difference but not to worry
  39. Premier league ? Like these ?

These are appeals. So presumably lots of applications have been processed - which means more appeals? That's a good thing isn't it? Otherwise these people might still have been sat there pending a decision. Needs a bit of thinking through this one before I jump to any conclusions. For me - this is a bit like when people were criticising Donald Trump for the confirmed COVID numbers being so high in the US - his point being that that's because they were testing more people. Which he was right about.
  43. No you're wrong. Apparently the buck stops with Keir as he's the Prime Minister. He was also Jimmy Savile's defence lawyer! 😁
  44. I’m not sure who’s worse. You or cheese 😂 That link is not the job. As for the Bolton point, if you really wanted the job you can move to Bolton. If someone really wanted the job in the OP can they identify as Brown?
  45. I'd genuinely forgotten about him. Which tells you about the impact he had!
