it is pathetic- if the games do clash, club always gets priority! Burnley actively encourage it- you only get to represent district/county for a short period, and they want the kids to experience it

I wouldn't expect him to be dismissive of it, however, given the two countries involved, maybe he could have dialled down the hyperbole. As with most goal poachers Mullin will need serving and the team to be set up to do that, otherwise there's no body of evidence to suggest he'll go and score 20 or more in L1. His totals in National League and L2 speak for themselves but in his two career spells in L1 he's accumulated 6 in 46 games.

Of course he may fall flat but I don’t think so. He’s a proven goalscorer and I don’t see him having any more trouble in L1 than in L2. I suppose it depends as you infer on the support players making the chances for him to but if they do I see him as good enough to finish them. I think injuries are likely to affect his return more than just not scoring but if he stays fit I think Wigan have pulled off a very good signing for no transfer fee.

Processing an application has a number of phases. Appeal is part way through the process so to get to this stage it shows how much quicker the initial applications are being dealt with. We had same debate on here last time these numbers were put up.

Just on cup games, surely there are some we want to win? No disrespect to Hutch, but if we're playing Arsenal away or those 2 enjoyable games v Luton I'd want us to have our best keeper playing. I remember playing Villa (and being one up) and having our reserve keeper in (was it Dixon?) and he threw a couple in for them. Trafford was sat in the stands for no apparent reason. If we have a no.1 keeper, use him for any games we want to win, not just league.

I still have a feeling our “older” player will be James McLean to fill the left back role. I don’t particularly like the guy personally but he’s still a good player with a winning attitude and will certainly rile other teams fans, most notably Wigans so it would be a yes from me.

Andy Carroll doesn't represent professionalism of the highest order, even if there was something remaining in his legs, which I doubt. Could he have turned over a new leaf: I doubt it, but if so, it would represent a bit if a risk.
