See, I think SS picked the right team for the job. Poor finishing meant that it was 0-0 at HT instead of 3-0. We had 10 shots in the first half, Bradford had 0. The team SS picked should have had the game put to bed by HT.8 likes

But I still don't see this "new Sheehan who can tackle". He was always doing that for me, yes he had some poor games mainly away from home as they all do, but I've always associated him with getting stuck in. The number of times especially under IE he received a pass with 2 players up his backside and he battled to gain possession, taking a load of knocks and fouls along the way. His reading of the game has always been top notch in terms of interceptions etc, very much like another relative lightweight, Kieran Lee, in that respect.5 likes

8 wins on the spin before a closely fought draw with another promotion candidate, not sure I'd be changing much going forward TBF.4 likes

I think there’s a bit of an overreaction to radically change/ditch what we saw on Saturday From the magnitude of fan proposals that are on offer here, you’d think it was a game where we either; got battered, didn’t create anything, looked impotent, had no chance of winning. IMO, we play like that again we beat the third best team in this division.4 likes

History repeating itself? An excerpt from Winston Churchill's reply to Herr Hitler after he proposed a ''peace plan' for Britain Herr Hitler, Your message has been received, its contents have been read, considered and dismissed. You propose that Britain should extinguish her Air Force, scuttle her navy and stand idle while Europe is carved up like a Sunday joint. You ask that we cast aside a thousand years of duty, honour and civilisation so that your tyranny may remain undisturbed. Let us state with a clarity you cannot mistake: Britain will not kneel, Britain will not yield, Britain will never under any circumstance disarm at the command of a conqueror. You may keep your ink and paper, they will not serve you. Your 'new order' is not the future of Europe but the passing storm of a violent hour. The British Empire has faced greater tempests than you, and after each one the sun has risen upon our flag still flying. You may believe that we stand alone. We stand upon rock - upon the unconquerable spirit of free men and women.4 likes

United might go onto win this, and somehow they’ve made it up the league a bit, but whenever I watch them they just look really really shit.2 likes

Yes. Think it was the last time I spoke to Happy before he sadly passed away, as we were working on his house. It either went into the running of the site or into the fund raiser for Mike Hunt's lovely daughter, as I seem to recall we put 2 separate decent chunks for some reason into that fundraising, though that seemed longer than 6 years ago2 likes

It would be even more amazing if Churchill ever actually wrote this 😁2 likes

Sadly, and you are correct, most of the general public are a bit dense, and they are herded as they don't know how to think for themselves, they always have been, years ago it was by doing what their parents did, but these days folk are now far more easily herded via social media.2 likes

I don't see Forss ever replacing Burstow. Barring injuries, its going to be the physicality of Burstow or the physicality of Dalby. Forss would be another Collins in that respect, just not cut out for it. That's not a criticism of either player, they are just different types to the centre forward that SS bases the forward line around. Whoever plays, I'd want 2 strikers, yesterday's experiment of 1 striker at home didn't work. Burstow or Dalby with Forss or McAtee. Not a striker and an attacking midfielder IMO.2 likes

A little unfair on Forss. I think if anyone comes in up top to give Burstow a rest then it should be Forss. He’s a striker being asked to play number 10 at the moment. I’d also say he’s technically the best striker we have, I think he’s just been a victim of Burstows unexpected excellent start.2 likes

That was one of the best hat-tricks I've ever seen. Usually a hat-trick might include a tap in or a penalty, those three were all top drawer from decent distance. I wonder if there's been a better one in the Prem from a midfielder. He'd be starting every competitive game for England for me, he's just got it and doesn't come with baggage, ego or over hype. The others can fit in around him (which means he only really needs to start games for one month every 2 years).2 likes

Unlike the successful attempts of those scurrilous scumbags Biden, Pelosi and Schumer then? This won't be over yet my friend. Time will tell. Get the bastards Don.1 like

That's what we have media for. OK, some, probably plenty, is actually wrong. Nevertheless, there are plenty out there that clearly do know a lot more about what is going on; the legalities of American plans, and the ensuing disaster should anything remotely akin to the plan be accepted. Additionally, if none of us know what is going on, how are you so "well informed" about VZ and his corruption? How do you know about Russian speaking people in the East of the country? News outlets presumably.1 like

There’s violence every weekend across Europe. The only difference here is religion. Check out how they cope in Northern Ireland and the very country you live in, this country couldn’t cope with it.1 like

Not for me. Sounds like something for the grief junkies. I'm sure the families mourn in their own way, and don't need anything else. We have remembrance day; a commemoration and fund raising event, and best left at that.1 like

Defender makes a great block, team mate grabs him by the face with both hands to celebrate when he gets up… not even a consideration of a card. Where’s the line when it’s your own player? Farce. Another example of zero common sense being shown. Rule book might say one thing but anyone with an ounce of common sense can see that it’s not worth ruining the game for.1 like

Funny that if it was done to an opposition player they'd have been rolling around screaming.1 like

Bottom line is we didn't win because not many players played to their true level. If the season stopped now the top 3 POTS might be ACD, Conway and Burstow and none of them were anywhere near their best. If a couple of them were, added to slight improvements elsewhere like for eg better set pieces (Morley instead of Christie?), we would have found a way to score. Its 2 points dropped that we can ill afford with the fixtures to come, its disappointing and yes I hope Simons is back soon but we don't need to dwell on it, I'm confident performances will be better in more games than not.1 like

I don’t disagree with your conclusion that switching it up at times might be beneficial, especially when Dalby’s on the pitch. However, I think you’re making this “problem” out to be bigger than it is and overreacting to one game where we missed some good chances and the opposition did a good job on us. We’ve scored 17 in the last 10 If we converted at a ‘normal’ rate then we’d be scoring 6/7 per game - it’s never going to happen. You’ll have to accept a lower conversion rate when having so many shots (I agree it would be good to increase it a bit - albeit obvious) We do have a player that scores ‘piledrivers’. ACD has scored multiple this season. Without checking, I reckon he’s scored more than Humphries from outside the box this season. We’re a league one team. Sometimes teams will manage to nullify our way of playing and we won’t be able to combat it, sometimes we’ll just have an off day, sometimes we’ll miss some chances that we should take. It was a mixture of all 3 on Saturday. Even with all that, and without clicking for the majority of the season (general consensus), we’re 2 points off top of the league. We don’t need to change anything fundamentally, a few tweaks would be good, but there’s no way SS isn’t working on that. Sorting the ‘10’ position out is number one priority. The rest of the team works really well, especially with the back 4 now seemingly settled. It might be Dempsey that does it (Simons and Sheehan behind him), or it might be a signing in Jan (if we can offload Randall and McAtee), other than that we’ll be just fine.1 like

It was unfortunate for Burstow that, having been isolated by Dempsey playing the 10 role as a midfielder and grafted away without much reward, he went off as Forss came on, to play the 10 role as a second striker. I'd sooner see Simons than Morley, works better with Sheehan and gives a better platform for the no 10 to play closer to the striker1 like

Sod that, he’s exactly the kind of target man we’re missing, although with Victor coming back shortly SS may not see it as a priority and probably more important to move a few out instead.1 like

Games played over 90 mins though. The longer the game went on the more isolated Burstow became and the less impact ACD had. Maybe that team should've finished the game... I don't he'll start many more games of that magnitude without Simons.1 like

Stop being so ignorant, you are talking about the ‘tax gap’ not tax avoidance. 😂😇🤫 Some might argue it is a semantic difference but there is a rather large difference. You would think this would get a bit more attention especially from a Labour Govt but only the Greens and Libs are shouting about it. Gets dismissed by the Cons and Farage as politics of envy. Who are the financial backers of these parties again ? https://taxjustice.uk/blog/tax-gap-2025-increase-press-release/ We are all in this together remember. The Stock Market is only up 15% YTD 27% in last two years, 50% in last 5. Cost of living crisis my arse ! 😂 Typed from a subbed in Lanzarote trying decide if we should get a ferry to another island as there is a Calima today.1 like

Wonder why you think shipping five or six is stupid? SS has already said training is hard with so many on the training ground. Fergal Harkin said when he came in that the squad needed to be smaller than last season yet it has grown. Simply the Squad is way top heavy and will be pruned certainly next Summer if not before. Taylor ,Erhahon, Simons, Cissoko, Gale and Dalby are SS signings yet did not start yesterday......Top and bottom of it we are paying north of 100k a month on players not in the first team squad. No need for a website to get you a 30 goal goalscorer in league one The lad Tolaj who went from Port Vale to Plymouth and Jata from Notts County would all get 20 plus in this league. And i would think many here would get rid of four or five of Cogley, Forrester, Taylor, Morley, Sissoko, TuTu, Dalby, Randall and McAtee if it meant we could get Keillor -Dunne with the savings1 like
