  1. Pity - he was doing a brilliant job

We've currently got the second best defence in the league, and we've not had a goalkeeper make a save in half a season. I've been as critical of us as anyone, but someone in that defence has to be good.

I agree on Cogley but Christie's crosses are by far the best we have seen in a long time, just a pity they are only on corners.

Christie is bloody awful. Looks like he's playing in vets league. ACD misses the support and energy Cogley provided.

Thought I'd put this on this thread rather than the post match one, though it relates to SS's comments about players being shattered, tired minds etc but also transfer dealings. I'd spare time to kill this aft, after such an early finish, so did a bit of research into the workloads our players have had to date, too see how much foundations those comments had. Looking at League matches only (24 games): 14 of our squad have started less than half the games 10 have started less than 10 Only 3 (Johnston, Conway, ACD) have started 20 or more, Simons 19 Sheehan only 13 though some internationals also The four who have reasonable cases for a bit of tiredness are Johnston, Conway, ACD and Burstow (23, 23, 22 and 21 starts). Conway has shown he is robust, however, 44 starts in L2 last season. In 24-25, Burstow made 8 starts, ACD - 6, Forss - 6, Gale - 6, Simons - 13, so ACD, Burstow, Gale, Simons, Forss have all had more starts already than in the whole of last season, ACD completing 90 mins almost every time, such has been the reliance on him. Christie is an experienced performer, though another with a lack of recent game time (2 starts last season). Erhahon is a different quandary. Had an injury niggle with us that's been a hindrance, so only 10 starts. The quandary is him never completing 90 minutes for us and more often less than 80, when, of his 28 starts last season, he did so over 20 times. What's it all saying? That there's been a gamble on largely young players of talent but perhaps not the volume of games under their belt to help them stand the rigours of a 46 game L1 season? Not a surprise perhaps that Burstow, ACD, Simons have started to struggle?. If 'the players are shattered' SS could maybe have made more use of some squad members but evidently doesn't trust/isnt keen on them? We haven't an adequate cover for ACD but 3 left wingers if we count Tutu?. Why does Erhahon fade and struggle to complete 90 minutes for us, are we using him the best way? We've invested a fair bit in some (Dalby, Taylor, Cissoko) that are contributing little. All of this might be pointless bollocks of course but I was a bit at head scratching point about the current blip, dip or whatever. Time for MOTD and a bit of the cricket now 🤦🤣
  6. It would appear so. We certainly seem to have lost sight of the values that made them necessary. I do find it odd that it's largely the ostentatious poppy wearers that seem to be most in bed with our new authoritarian world order. And fail to see the irony. Anyway - if we are picking one of the three to be a vassal state to, seen as that's how most people seem to view us these days. Who are we picking? I do like Chinese food, but I reckon the real stuff that they would impose on us (ie not duck pancakes) would be shit in reality. Bird wise they are the shittest I'd argue. Terrible football team. But long term I reckon they might be the ultimate powerhouse as they seem to have a 1000 year plan which is steadily unfolding. The Ruskies don't seem to have much going for them food wise either. But they do have the fittest birds of the three which is a plus. Terrible football team. The US is shit food also (RW's Trump burger aside). But we can't be eating them every day or we'd all die from cholesterol at 45. Birds are a mixed bag a bit like over here. Marginally better football team. I think I'd have to accept the US as my new overlord as I can't be arsed learning a new language at my age and we could pretend that this was our plan all along since the war of independence. Plus the MAGA hats look dead stylish and we'd all get to have guns. I draw the line at being forced to watch American Football though.
  7. Confidence in attack looks to have gone after failing to score against Mansfield. Happens to all teams but times like this you need a set piece to get by or galvanise things and we don't seem capable. Maybe that corner shouldn't have been disallowed to be fair but with how many we get should be scoring more. I play for a very low level amateur team and we have 2 lads that can consistently put in better corners than any of our lot, on much worse pitches as well. Can't get my head round 10 pros being that standard. Pissed me off hearing SS talk about the fixture pile up. Biggest squad in the league with hardly any injuries against the likes of Doncaster and Northampton. Shithouse excuse.
  8. Agent Wilcox is doing a fine job.

He's a decent league 1 defender but he has apparently turned into prime Cannavaro in his time away.
  10. If he wants to continue with a 10 he needs to get a player in who can play the position!

Christie never overlaps and only crosses from corners… At least Cogley does overlap and has higher energy levels and pace to burn … for all Cogley faults it’s a poor call using Christie over Cogley in my opinion.
  12. How about when the keeper just chipped to one of their players ? Taylor played a 5 yard pass into one of their players with no Bolton player near? Then did the same but over 10 yards. The fact we lined up a left side that looked like Milli Vanilli ?
  13. As you know, it's different when Trump does it. Invades a country - great stuff, stopping the drugs, he's the man Fucks Kids - it was a long time ago, let it go, let's move on, he's the man
  14. Apart from fucking Fergal who recruited him and Taylor from the pub league. Add to that Sissoko, TSL and Forss and it’s looking worse than the other recruitment clown we got rid of
  15. Was Lammy keeping them held in his own basement?
  16. Dalby has been pretty poor (from a goals per game ratio) his entire career, apart from for a short period of time in the pub league north of the border. The fact that he's not been very good for us, and hasn't whacked a load of goals in shouldn't come as a huge surprise to anybody really
  17. Yesterday, Northampton didn't just sit in a low block all game, quite a few times they pushed up and held a high line, which was crying out to be broken. At least 4/5 times, Burstow went to make that run and the player on the ball, usually Toal or Johnston, turned the opportunity down. It felt like they had been so indoctrinated over the years into not giving possession away that chucking a long ball over the top would be a big risk and get them criticism. The bigger problem was that they'd then tap it about a bit, come under a bit of pressure and launch it long anyway, when their defenders were set and Burstow had no chance. Surely, at some point, either at HT or in an injury break, a word could be got on to say 'look forward, if he's making that run, fucking hit it, you won't get a bollocking'. Of course that could have happened and they'd ignored him, an issue then for discussion back on the training ground.
  18. Amazing the difference a year makes. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4g9ezyw0keo.amp
  19. Always taking 3 extra passes to get to a destination than required. So the Opposition all have time to get back in position and have a cigar
  20. Best of all are the screeching snowflakes on Twitter sending messages to Trump asking him to do the same here. I mean, Starmer isn’t perfect but would we really want an American peadophile looking after our kids and the NHS? (it’s ok Bolty, I know you would, this is a question for those on here with an IQ higher than a trifle)
  21. Depends if we can move them on, we have no way of knowing their wages but i expect them to be significant for this league but behind Randall,Mcatte and Schon who Evatt paid over 3m for and also give them long contracts We paid no fees for Either Dalby or Taylor
  22. Owen Coyle must be in with a shout, surely?
  23. Lad has been trying to get sacked since he took over Hopefully they'll make another terrible appointment
  24. Southgate is available. “Come on down!”
  25. for me the issues we have is our 2 centre halfs shit themselves when they get the ball,so sheehan has to drop deep leaving our only othere midfield on his own, if we are to continue playing like that play 5 men in midfield and have 2 number 10s (mcatee and randall) playing off our striker but also there to back midfield numbers up. dont get the persistance with johnston week in week out, defensively he is ok but distribution is awful
  26. Indeed, what I was getting at really, a bit of shape / system, nouse and desire of those unmarked teammates to show for him, and him seeing them and offloading it quickly enough. One of the issues is, with Christie at RB, we've stopped getting beyond him on the outside.
  27. This isn't a dig at you but if Sophie Ellis Baxter isn't good enough then maybe the standards being set are unrealistic. She's Premier League at a minimum, we're a Corrie actress that can look good when she's dolled up.
  28. With regards SS comments re squad being tired after so many games. Morley, McAtee , Forester Forss and JDC did not even make the bench. (I think 🤔 All 4 are decent players at this level. If the others who have been playing and these 5 are not good enough for squad may as well get rid.
  29. We've been abysmally overrated as an attacking force all season really, based almost entirely off things ACD has done at his best (and to a much, much lesser extent, Burstow and Gale). The strength of the current group is in defence, especially now TSL isn't there to throw one in. If there's any hope for this season it lies within that unit.
  30. Why people keep insisting on Russia being in this new world order is beyond me. They are fucked, if it wasn't for their nukes they would have been routed ages ago. China is the next boss in the inevitable and stupid merry go round of bullshit.
  31. We are doing fine thanks R. Total comparison to this time last year which showed us even more how precious life is. So now, even more, if we can do it, we are doing it!!
  32. Many moons ago knew a Cardiff fan From a play or a song or summat?
  33. The stands were as flat as what was going on the pitch. Either of those headers go in it’s another scrappy 3 points and we go again, but it’s rinse repeat we just can’t score and it’s all far too safe, they are shit scared on gambling.
  34. Down to 6th in 15 minutes since you posted this. Wasn't two wins in 10 to start the season a dip? Or back to back away losses to Northampton & Burton? When does our dip for the season end?
  35. The malaise seemed to have spread to the club, who looked like they couldn't be arsed putting the fixture on. No food of any description in the West Upper and no hot drinks on a day when it was 2c outside. Burstow looked like a fed up Marcus Rashford on Thursday, jogging about with the sulks on. To his credit, he gave his head a wobble and grafted hard today, put good runs in, held the ball up fairly well and showed for the ball, despite the service to him being abysmal. Taking him off was ridiculous, he still had energy and looked to be playing himself back into a bit of form.
  36. The team just looks like it had no chemistry at all. Playing passes the other wasn't expecting, over hitting it, looking worried and way too passive. Looked like a first pre season game. Schumacher has only had 1 window and deserves time, but he's slowly becoming an excuse merchant. Blaming this on fatigue and having a tight schedule. What about the rest of the division? He brought up the pitch at the Doncaster game for being a factor. You would have thought with our big squad, playing against much smaller clubs with much smaller budgets in a short space of time, coming to our place on our nice big pitch, yet what have we done against them? Mansfield made no subs in their game before us, beaten us, Barnsley & Bradford in less than a week. Northampton today had so many injuries. We hardly have any injuries at all and a squad twice as big. 5 points against Rotherham, Mansfield, Doncaster and Northampton, 3 of them at home? Absolutely no excuse at all. And I don't think it's just, "let's get some incomings in this month". I hope it makes a difference, but how do we know this? I don't even think Burstow & Dalby deserves the blame as much as they get. What chances do they get? Burstow did well today but what service is he getting? Our crosses and play in the final 3rd is dreadful and it's no wonder why our goals have dried up. Worrying times.
  37. Pretty sure other teams are on the same boat. It’s up to you to fire them up. We haven’t played well in any of those 4 games.
  38. He was fucking criminal today, as bad as Santos at his worst for walking out of the box, waving his arms, flapping then going sideways or back to Miller. Him and Johnston killed any tempo and were still at it in injury time. The whole side was scared today, scared to run with it, scared to play a first time pass, or even a second touch one.
  39. Just got back from that borefest, absolute crap SS really needs to up his ideas because at the moment we are going nowhere To slow in the build up,no threat up front and no runners from deep, it's so fucking pedestrian. We take 5 pass's were 1 would have the same outcome I hate to say it but that was the most Evatt like performance Christie to slow, Taylor Shit, toal and Johnston ( the chuckle brothers)playing as though we're 3-0 up,to me to you Fucking dog shit
  40. This isn’t just a team low on confidence. There just isn’t the quality or experience to get us out this league. Combine that with a manager who appears to have no idea who his best team is or how to play to their strengths. Happy clappers will be back telling folk to calm down, but it won’t long before we’re drifting from the playoffs again. Can only hope there’s a plan to get some quality in over January.
  41. that was fucking disgracful
  42. He's just far too weak. Never any chance of him challenging for the ball let all alone winning it just then
  43. I know he gets some stick and I wouldn't be there booing or abusing the lad but Christ alive Randall is fucking awful.
  44. Randell is dog shit
  45. Despite everything that folk are complaining about, it all comes down to one thing - not finishing our chances.
  46. Here comes the Donkey, chained to a 10 tonne plough.
  47. I still do. Never stopped. Like 'the Gillette Cup' it got in first & will never go. Now, I'm off to get a pound of bacon and a pint of milk.
