Cracking day out, that. Great performance from all, including the subs (as someone said above, it's a 16 man game now, and all played their part). With players starting to come back/through the door, and maybe others perhaps still to be signed, we're looking in a great position for the rest of the season.

4-1 perhaps flattered us but we dominated pretty much all of the game, and importantly, heads stayed calm after conceding. More performances like that, please.

Properly chuffed, especially as it's rare I get onto an open terrace and the weather actually behaves! COYW

I didn't think it did, we were 3 goals better than them all day long.  Baxter made 1 good save, they had a good header just wide 1st half, and scored a good goal.  We had loads of near misses and in terms of possession were streets ahead, they were well beaten and 2-1 or 3-1 wouldn't have reflected our superiority.

That's one of the stranger comments I've seen.  If he hardly ever starts league games how could it be "proven beyond doubt"?  If he'd started today I think we would have still won, and if he'd started at Orient I don't think we would have got worse than a 1-0 defeat.

Precisely.

The world of Spider.

But it's working for the most part, so we just need to get behind them.

Not sure the continued criticism of players helps. We all have opinions, and we need to remember we are a third division outfit, but they're ours and as we approach a key part of the season, we need to back them.

Captain above said it worked a treat today, long may it continue.

The games he has started, he’s been ineffective.

And he’s a striker that’s scored how many goals?

I’m a happy clapper, remember.

But JDB offers very little when he starts. But offers more from the bench.

Evatt knows….

Fair comment I suppose. Felt a bit like we were taking the piss when the 4th went in so late, but, I suppose that's the reward we can get when we've invited a press and the opponent is knackered.

Not splitting hairs :) cracking result, all that matters!

Just back.....a shambles with the trains back from Preston but it can't spoil a cracking day. Carlisle is a likeable place.

Much too good for them in the 1st half, they gave it a go at the start of the 2nd but when they scored it shook us back into  commanding football & we were much too good for them again.

Dempsey was a man possessed & very effective but MOTM was the classy Sheehan.

No problem, good to meet you…. @Casino sorted the tickets I just collected them for you. Yep Sheehan on another level.. joy to watch him.

Good to meet you too. Not been to a game with my brother together in over ten years (his fault for moving to Inverness). So it was a nostalgic day out.

Nice one @Casino

Preston train station a farce with all the cancelled trains.

Uber back to Bolton.

Apart from that a mighty fine away day.

Maybe a positive outlook is not too misplaced 😊

Still going strong on 90 odd minutes and bagging two more.

Once upon a time we’d have been blowing out our arses and trying to run the clock down. Resorting to the big boot and getting the ball straight back into us. Crowd baying for blood and getting bed sheets out.

To be fair, Simpson has said in his interview after the game that they were well beaten by a side that was much better than them

Played well at Pompey, we had a man sent off v Bristol that ruined the game, won 2-0 at Fleetwood.  Scored a first half hat-trick in FA Cup.  Scored at Stockport.  How you can say Bod has offered very little, I've no idea.  Course he can have a bad half hour, we watch our strikers every week looking like they can't trap a bag of cement sometimes, then they burst into life for 5 minutes and it justifies their inclusion. I respect IEs right to pick who he wants and Vic played well today, but to say JDB offers very little on the rare occasion he starts, I'm not sure who you're comparing him to in our squad?

Not comparing him to anyone. I’m basing my view purely on what I see him do.

He hasn’t scored a goal in the league this season. Not exactly sparkling is it?

Im only saying he’s poor when he starts.

When he comes off the bench to play against tired defenders he’s pretty effective. It works.

Viktor bullies and pulls defenders all over the place. And scores more goals.

Defenders would choose to face JDB over Vik, I’d expect.

It’s been proven beyond doubt that Bod starting league games has been completely ineffective.

Hes a decent substitute but that’s all.

How has it been proven beyond doubt?

Dempsey played well but not even close. That man orchestrated the whole game

I said earlier he was brilliant for 40 minutes, disappeared for 20, then came back.

KD was good for 90 and in the dodgy spell was the one looking for the ball. Last week there were no outfield contenders for MOTM so let's be happy we had 2 this week.

You spelt Dempsey wrong.

Thought Dempsey went missing for much of the second half but fuck me what a run and finish for his goal. Sheehan outstanding tbf.

Tennent’s in a Wetherspoon. Queuing down the road for Walkabout. Honestly this place is mad.
