Popular Post mattbwfc19 Posted December 14, 2024 Popular Post Posted December 14, 2024 Also, 2-0 flatters us, should’ve been 5/6-0. Evatts idea of in game management was switching the wing backs across. Absolutely clueless Quote

Cannot defend this at all. The sad thing is, even though before the game they were 1 point off the drop zone and had lost 3 on the bounce, I could see this happening. We never turn up in the big/local games, and that’s all down to the manager. How many times have we heard the Bolton get battered chant? Beyond fed up. If we get rid now, we could get a competent manager, and give it a go in the play-offs. We are never ever getting out of league one with Evatt in charge. Hmmm, more than one way out of this league. Nottm_Wanderer Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 Johnstone is a L2 player Never ever been convinced about Thomason at any level . He doesn't look after the ball and his passes are more like shots Jones is a L2 player Charles isn't good enough ... He scores occasionally We had NO MIDFIELD whatsoever . Wigan just walked and ran through it . from 2 mins into the game you knew what was going to happen Quote
Greg_BWFC Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 Trying to compose my thoughts before I post them on the game. Might be a while. Quote

DazBob Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 Can anyone give a good reason why once again Baxter continually pumped it forward to Vic against a CB who is 3 inches taller than him? Opposition win the ball and come straight back at us. Time and time again. It was exactly the same against Mansfield until they had a player sent off. It's clearly a tactic Evatt is on board with or they wouldn't keep doing it. I'd love to know know the thinking behind it because anyone who isn't a retard can see it's massively flawed. What we saw today was one of the poorer sides in the division beat one of the supposedly better teams simply by doing the basics well and having a game plan. We used to be a team that had a certain style of play. We now just have a collection of players, none of who appear to know the style of football we are supposed to play. The players need to take some blame for this, but ultimately it falls on the manager. Again. He has to go for me. Quote

1969 Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 Right just got back and I'm fucking absolutely sick to death of the same shit it's groundhog day.Wigan deserved it and should have been more. Not one player gets any credit.Mateta at fault for the 1st rolled way to easy.Back 3 crap.Baxter shite. No midfield and an attack that is fucking useless. No more chances for IE he's got go and go now Quote
Bertie Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 Where to start. At end of the day I think it would be too easy to slag most / all the players off after a completely inept performance (they deserve it). However this one is 100% on the manager and the way we weren’t set up to deal with the inevitable Wigan game plan. Again. Why is he the only one who can’t see it. Sad thing is I’m not surprised. Had enough. Another usual “happy clapper” is now firmly in the Evatt out brigade. Now please. Quote
Popular Post Spider Posted December 14, 2024 Popular Post Posted December 14, 2024 They simply have to pull the trigger now. A new manager coming in at this point has plenty of time and a decent amount of points on the board to build a promotion charge. We should be right up there challenging but Evatt has now proven himself so unbelievably stubborn that it’ll be his undoing. No issue with a guy who believes in his principles, but you need to be adaptable. He isn’t. he clearly doesn’t have the faith a manager needs from his players. Going mental and blaming everyone from Sharon down to Lofty is daft. We all know that consistency will often work, and they’ve given Evatt plenty of time. I won’t call him any names, I don’t think for a second his intentions are anything but honourable, but he’s out of his depth and the change needs to happen now. Hes come up short, it’s a shame but we need to move on. now. Quote

Yet another manager who has worked out our tactics. Quote

Farnywhite Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 Get shut now see if Sam will take it to the end of the season . he should still have enough contacts and one or two favours at clubs in the prem to bring a few kids on loan to the end of the season . At least we would see a end to fucking about at the back with the ball if nothing else Quote

barrycowdrill Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 This approach of swapping the wing backs is absolute fucking lunacy. It just renders schon in particular even more useless. It just forces him in to an already congested area and takes any momentum out of a move. principally he’s a winger yet any intent to get forward and get at a man has been knocked clean out of him. Wigan on the other hand. Had a winger playing on the right who teased and tormented all afternoon. They had 4 crosses across the face of goal by the 7th fucking minute. and the whole principle of playing out from the back is lost on all of them. The whole ploy is to attract the press. Then play around and out of it or drop the ball in to your strikers further up the pitch. But yet again, any degree of pressure and to a man the whole attempt to do it flies straight out of the window because they simply aren’t good enough. I’ve no idea how 24,000 people can see it every week for 4 years yet that egomaniac can’t Quote

If you want to get out of this league, he can’t be in your starting midfield, he’s not good enough on the ball but he also doesn’t make up for it with athleticism and size. Don’t get me wrong, he’s on a hiding to nothing in a midfield 2, but everyone acts like he’s turned into Gerrard since he decided not to go to Bristol and it’s bollocks, he’s improved but as he proved today, he can’t grab a game and control it and you need your centre mids to be able to do it. He’s also still a walking liability. He wasn’t the worst today by the way, I could go on about them all, I just think most people are on the same page for the rest of them but GT gets off very lightly because of his “journey” with us. kent_white Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 Am I right that we have no Santos, Johnston or Thomason for next week against Wycombe? Quote
