Johnnyrotten Posted August 20, 2025 Posted August 20, 2025 Not to overstate a league game in August, with 42 more to go, but this game will help define whether the start is good, bad or very average. The first game we've gone into as clear favourites on paper. A win and 7 points from 4, top 10 and 3 points off 2nd would be decent. A defeat or even a draw makes our points total look a bit poor. Not many games in a season when the difference between winning and drawing is 9th or bottom half. Quote

Yep, said the other day that come Sunday our start could be 3 wins from 5 which looks and feels a lot better than the current 1 in 3. Would propel us right up there too and sets the tone from the off Quote
Zico Posted August 20, 2025 Posted August 20, 2025 Reading 3 out 3 defeats, no excuses really given How on top we've been in our games so far Quote

Steejay Posted August 20, 2025 Posted August 20, 2025 Dalby on the bench, Cogley not in the squad, Cissoko starts Quote
thebells Posted August 20, 2025 Posted August 20, 2025 Burnley had 6 points from 5 games the year they romped the Championship with Kompany. Performances over points until about 10 games in (and the former naturally leads to the latter) We’ve been pretty good so far. Lots to be positive about. Results will come. We should win tonight. But if we don’t, it’s not the end of the world. Said before, looking at 18 from the first 10 as a solid start. Quote

L/H White Posted August 20, 2025 Posted August 20, 2025 No cogley is odd, especially if he isn't injured Quote

Eddie Posted August 20, 2025 Posted August 20, 2025 Strongest midfield 5 I think we’ll have put out for a few years that. Quote

Although maybe he needs a run of games to get going He is and I hope you're right. The system didn't suit him last season. We're now playing the same formation as he played at pufc. Question is ... how long do you keep giving him chances to improve & impress? For me he's got tonight and Lincoln. IF he continues to be non existent (like McAtee) then that 10 role needs scrapping. jmjhb Posted August 20, 2025 Posted August 20, 2025 Said before that I feel like Randall is better suited to home matches, and McAtee in away games Quote
Deanu Posted August 20, 2025 Posted August 20, 2025 Two home games, lets go from an okay start to a strong start & fucking into these teams at home. Simons-Erhahon midfield duo looks great on paper hopefully it translates of the pitch. Mendes-Gomes looks just as f*cked as Schon missing these bench places recently. COYWM Quote

COYWM CMG played for the reserves v PNE today so I think you’re correct. Hopefully he had a blinder in front of all the watching scouts. 😁 Quote
Rizlar Posted August 20, 2025 Posted August 20, 2025 Looks to me Schon and CMG could be off either on loan or sold. Quote
