Ani Posted Wednesday at 22:23 Posted Wednesday at 22:23 Has there been any explanation why he was not in squad last week ? Given lack of midfielders it was worrying Quote

Stig Posted Wednesday at 22:49 Posted Wednesday at 22:49 Really bad knock for him at Cardiff that he soldiered through but wouldn't surprise me if that's the end of his season Quote

Kane57 Posted Thursday at 05:48 Posted Thursday at 05:48 No massive loss tbh. He's one we let go with a thanks and look to upgrade on significantly Quote

A fit and firing Dempsey will benefit us for the next 5 games in some way shape or form. Quote
kent_white Posted Thursday at 11:36 Posted Thursday at 11:36 I really like Dempsey. But I do think we're going to need to look to better quality and consistency to make the step up. Quote
barrycowdrill Posted Thursday at 11:58 Posted Thursday at 11:58 2 massive issues with Dempsey 1. he can’t stay fit. 2. never nailed down a position. This season in particular being played one week as a 10 then moving to central midfield the week after. Doing his bit for the side but it’s hindering us and him like the fella, got some quality and seems the right character. But is there space for an unfit auxiliary player Quote
Eddie Posted Thursday at 12:58 Posted Thursday at 12:58 All true… at the end of the season. Who do I want coming off the bench with half an hour to go on that massive Wembley pitch to exploit all the space - Dempsey. Quote

He was our MOTM last time, after coming on as sub. Quote

But if we go up or want automatic next year - we probably need a step up in quality. Quote

I like him, but he's a 'nearly' man in this squad. Nearly good enough to be one in a two with Sheehan, nearly good enough to be the box to box midfielder, nearly good enough to be the tackler/play disruptor, nearly good enough to be the "10"/link between midfield and attack. Sadly, a jack of all trades, master of none. I'm still glad we signed him, though. Loves Wembley too 😉 Edited Thursday at 17:30 by Traf Quote

For Dempsey, read Erhahon or Simons. Who knows who'll come in with the big reputation and "step up in quality" next season, if its for L1 it will have to be rare breed. Affordable, fit for most of the season, and happy to play in L1. Quote
Popular Post frank_spencer Posted Thursday at 18:48 Popular Post Posted Thursday at 18:48 Dempsey is a perfect squad player and has shown before he's willing to play through the pain barrier for the club. The 'we need better if we go up' line could apply to 90% of the squad but this last up to 5 games of the season someone with the guts of Dempsey could prove invaluable. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted Thursday at 19:24 Posted Thursday at 19:24 I like his commitment, and he has an eye fir goal too. Just feel his injuries have caught up with him now. Shame. Quote

Popular Post only1swanny Posted Thursday at 22:19 Popular Post Posted Thursday at 22:19 Love Dempsey, Does as asks, rarely has a bad game, but think the latest lot of injuries are now taking their toll on him. I hope he stays, great squad player when fit Quote
gonzo Posted yesterday at 18:26 Posted yesterday at 18:26 He'd be bloody brilliant for a team gunning for promotion from league 2. That's his peak level for me. Quote
