Even Reading, one of the greatest things ever in the end, was a fuck up really. Two down and a penalty coming up - at that stage you could repeat the game umpteen times and we'd not win.

Same here. As for that Reading game, as soon as Branagan saved that penalty everyone on the concourse at half time seemed to just know we were going on to win it. Best football memory ever for me.

As for the worst, got be Tranmere, we drove all the way home without anyone talking. Stoke and Oxford both tempered by a cracking night out in Enfield 😀

Thankfully we don't do that anymore, then not long after came Tranmere and I vowed not to be part of it again! I went to the Watford game and I can only describe the atmosphere as "weird".

I enjoyed Liverpool even though we lost. We should have had Villa.

Overall, our record isn't great, and in my attendance, even worse.

Starting with the Bristol City loss, the only one I’ve missed is the worst: Stoke. Had just split-up with the ex-wife, so my life was in a bit of turmoil. Watched the game in the pub and, while pissed off, was so glad I wasn’t there!

Missed Reading as I was at Uni at the time and had an exam the next morning 

Felt it best I didn't go as if we won, I'd get pissed and fuck up my exam 

So I went to a local pub, watched it and got pissed 

Threw up about half an hour before the exam 

It was all to do with Maps and Cartography and one of the questions was summat like "you're employed in a tourist office, what would you put on a map"

By this point I'm sweating alcohol and really can't be arsed, so drew a map of Bolton town centre, put Burnden in it and all the pubs in between, then just wrote 'We are premier league' 

Then left to chuck up again followed by going to the union bar for hair of the dog

My coursework for the module I'd done previously got me through 

Though in a meeting with my lecturer later he asked why I had done so badly in the exam whilst all my coursework was great

Yeh, did both as well as all the others. Barry Knight sill haunts, but at least we knew we had the moral high ground (pitch invasion that was anything but friendly, while the bloke on the Tannoy taunted us. You'd think the FA would have done summat, but their Sheepshanks ruled that roost.....so no).

Aldershot I remember the angry crowd in the car park "addressing" the board who were holed up in that suite at the Manny Road. Then some pillock lobbed a brick through the windscreen of the Aldershot team coach and the driver was being treated for schrapnel. "yeh" I thought, "there's me thinking it was all the fault of the board, the manager and the players. But no, the real culprit all along was the Aldershot team coach driver. Poor sod". I do remember trudging back to the bus station to get back to Howfen and thinking that as Burnley had just survived in the league by the skin of their sixth finger, that could be us next year. Fortunately, I was very wrong...

I remember being in the protests on the car park after. I was only 17 and the police charged at us making us run towards town. Somebody put a window in on Manchester Road (can't remember if it was me, but if it was it was by accident m'lud). Next thing I knew a copper had got me round the neck and when I looked round it was my brother in law. He pushed me away and said 'just fuck off home now'. Think I was back home in Morris Green 20 minutes later.

Yes I was in the angry crowd (but wasn't angry, just pissed off, it all felt inevitable), it was just something to do rather than going straight home on a Sunday afternoon.  Protesting to the windows seemed a useful activity at the time, in hindsight the occupants of the boardroom were probably having a brew and discussing where they were going on holiday.  Utterly pointless but not protesting would have felt like meek surrender.

As  you say we could have easily had a "Burnley" season, it was grim in Div 4 and I'm still grateful we got out of that league not once but twice in my lifetime despite being fairly dreadful for much of those seasons, the only 2 years in our history we've been there.

Pretty much the whole shebang, since 1986.

All the finals/semis at Wembley and Millennium. 

All the home leg play-off semis and the majority of the away legs. 

As well as the obvious highs of winning on the big stage, I loved our come back at West Brom in 2001

I am the same think the only 3 missed out of everything finals semi finals relegation play offs is wolves away West Brom away and Barnsley away all  due to work but won’t be going to midweek game next week due to work again

I would have been more pissed off if we had lost to this lot back back in November. All that has happend is that the home & away legs of the playoffs have been reversed. I fancy our chances against any of that lot. Why am I so pissed off?
