Mounts Kipper Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 For a day trip it was epic, flew about 6 in the morning coach to Nessebar costal resort cheap ale all day, the match was piss poor until Nolan popped that goal in and we qualified for the next stage, anyhow we thought we would just be off straight to the airport but it was back to Nessebar after the match where we stayed for a couple of hours to relax and savour the result, think we landed back about 5 in the morning must be one of the best 1 day trips along with Besiktas. Carlos Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 I didn't eat a single bit of Bulgarian food, eating is cheating. Half a bag of crisps and some Kingsmill pancakes got me through. Arrived late Weds, checking into the 5* hotel the club used, seen better places on Bradford Street, out for a drink, people who'd been out all day were heading off to bedlington, having over indulged. Dodged the pickpockets and ended up in Mucky Duck.Got charge thrupence for some beers. Moved on to a 2-4-1 bar and found that Forest fan. Ended up in Corner Bar thing, opposite our hotel, Smiley was asleep with his head right next to the speaker. Last drink was me and Traf all alone on the square about 5am. I was rough as fuck on match day. Getting from Sunny Beach to the game was hard work, taxis were in short supply and Traf pulled a great move, talking to a bloke whose mate had a coach. All aboard, £3 or something, beers included. What a guy. Did that fucker who booked the wrong flight home ever escape Varna? Quote
Dr Faustus Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Fucking carnage... Basically used the hotel for a shit and a shower, best lap dance ever, fell asleep outside Farnworths finest room about 10 three following morning. Was found wandering around Sunny Beach add arrived outside hotel on back of a scooter just in time for coach departing. Mint Quote
Horwich Posted September 29, 2015 Author Posted September 29, 2015 Went for a week tue-tue Glad i went...doubt it will ever happen again in my lifetime Quote
SatanGreavsie Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Did that fucker who booked the wrong flight home ever escape Varna? Aye, he got back before the rest as toddled over to the BA counter and got a flight there. Brilliant effort though - booking the return flight for the correct day but wrong year! Quote

Was a fantastic day, great result. Same with Besiktas ....... But Plovdiv was the first. And a few of us had time for a meal & beers in Nessebar after. Boxes ticked. Whizz Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 My favourite trip. Went for a week, was the last Bolton out there with Brixton etc. Ended up on same coaches as Carlos. Would anyone go back for a holiday? Quote

I had booked 6 taxis, then Traf said he had sorted a coach, hotel not happy when I cancelled the taxis ! Saw the Forest fan at a home game a few weeks later Best bit for me was walking down from hotel to the Mucky Duck and gradually realising the noise was Bolton fans singing, like many others iw ent because could see us losing and never playing in Europe again. Most expensive trip for me, had paid for a load of connecting flights from Manc to London and people gave me the money at airport, in a bar, next to a bookies.......... I did eat we went to some place that had a main course of 'meat' it was basically just skewers and skewers of meat. Brilliant trip. Bobcats lot were also booked in same hotel as us so the hotel provided a coach from Varna to sunny beach, there were some sights on there on the way back. Quote

That sticks out for me too. We came out of the hotel and stood in the street wondering which to go and where all Bolton fans would be. I said sssshh listen to that......you could hear Bolton fans signing in the distance. We followed to noise all the way to the happy duck. So gutted I lost my phone when I got back and lost all my pictures. Managed to find to one on here with me and my dad on it but the rest all gone. Edited September 29, 2015 by gonzo Quote

Whites man Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Was on the week stay folk and had the best night out after a match I have had to date. It was like something from GTA, especially the "calling card" left by one poster outside the police station. It is not all positives though; I heard about this place whilst I was over there so it led to 10 years of posts from me. Quote
captainmed Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Did a week Friday to Friday.... Saw us beat Pompey at home the Saturday before in the Happy Duck and the floor nearly went through when Nolan scored...... Never forget bumping into so many on the sea-front from the 4th division days with smiling faces, thinking - how did this all happen? Happy, happy days.......................... Quote

Was also in happy duck for the Portsmouth game. Nolan overhead kick? Was my birthday while I was over there too got more pissed than I have ever been, threw up on the roof of the resteraunt under the duck and woke up with alcohol poisoning. Worth it though. Quote
GeorgeOghani'sIroningBoard Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 The massed piss-stop on the "motorway" into Burgas was hilarious. One bog in the entire Wanderers area of the ground so go where you can lads. I can still see those idiot Bulgarians holding up the placards of their manager and waving the red flares. The Stalinist flats overlooking the ground were a lovely sight. Good day out. Quote
Carlos Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Never made it to the seafront. Never saw a beach. Quote
