Just had a text from AG who would like to pass on his dad's and his thanks for the comments recieved from the good folk of wanderersways. It helps greatly and is very much appreciated.

Great effort lads. Shows what a decent bunch we are.

Best not show him the other threads eh?

hes seen them

both his lad and phil have accounts

im sure PG is big enough and ugly enough to accept comment re the job he has done

for me, a football club chairman is fair game for any reasonable criticism

calling him a thief, bent etc, not so

some folk are lucky he clearly thinks they are just cranks and ignores them

Mr Gartside & Eddie Davies have given me the best Wanderers' supporting years of my lifetime & probably the best years in the history of the club & i'll always thank them for all they've done for BWFC rather than moaning & criticising everything now that the more difficult times are here.

Anyone who says they would have preferred never to have had our time in the premier league, a cup final, the European campaigns, & seeing the likes of Jay Jay, Youri, Campo playing for Bolton & that they would have preferred to have spent all those years scratching around in the lower leagues can safely be ignored unless they can show that they said it at the time.....the rising debt was never a secret & today's difficulties were always going to happen once we dropped off the prem league gravy train.

I am not dredging up old arguments but I would have thought you would have mentioned BSA along with the other two. Or do you have to be ill now to get recognition?

I don't know any Bolton fan who would have preferred never to have had the Premier League and the great times and great players. Also in the rush to anoint Davies & Gartside, we had some good times under Bruce Rioch before they turned up. Also maybe the club could have been run a little differently after we fell off the Premier League Gravy Train or are we just now accepting that it was all inevitable, the club falling as quickly and as far as it has?

As for congratulating yourselves on what a decent bunch you are all on here, not on the comments concerning some past managers and chairmen that I have seen.

Absolutely.

Especially when plenty calling him do half their work cash in hand

Of course there were other great times as a BWFC fan, under Rioch, Todd & as far back as Ian Greaves with Frankie Worthy, but never before in our lifetimes have we been an established, mostly top half Premier ( 1st Div) club, with world class players, recognised in Europe as we were under PG & ED.

I don't think the fall after relegation was inevitable while there was still hope of bouncing back up 1st season down, but that incompetent cunt Coyle sabotaged any chance of that, & after that i think the slide became inevitable with the financial cutbacks that had to be made.

Easy to say now, but the appointment of Coyle & the failure to sack him quickly enough were the disastrous mistakes that we'll be paying for for a long time.....but it would probably have had to end badly at some point .

Gartside had been on the Board for five years before Rioch came.

He also introduced ED to the club (By begging for money) and appointed BSA, who I agree must get major credit for the good times.

does anybody care what folk who couldnt hack the harder times think?

bwfc is for life, not just munich

Best post of recent times. Even though I'm a relative yoof in comparison to you lot.

Lad at work is a Coventry fan, had a chat about football this week with him for the first time this season and he asked me if I was still going like there was an option.

I'd sooner go cushion shopping every Saturday than watch another team. (bi E, this includes other sports)

"It's not about the hard times, it's about not giving Gartside or Davies anymore of my money. Corrupt robbing cunts!"

Is your reply.

" & I doubt the illness too, he's doing a Blatter!"

tell him if we were 6th in the top league he'd be all fcuking over it

this is sorting out the proper fans

just like the 80s did

the great thing about the euro trips was seeing the blokes who i stood side by side with as we were getting beat 4-0 in the snow at wimbledon

stuck on the services on a coach with frozen windows after a defeat at plymouth etc etc

anyway, i cba rowing

ill do what i want, everybody else needs to do what they want

itll make little difference in the big picture
