I've no problem with Trump looking out for his country's best interests- he just needs to understand what the best ways are, and that doing it badly will have the opposite effect. I agree mate. I just don't think he's particularly bright. And he's surrounded himself with people that won't argue with him. I'm sure he does think he's doing the right thing by his own country - but his strategy is littered with own goals and fuck ups - largely because I don't think he's got the cognitive ability to think through the consequences of his actions - or think in abstracts. I think he's in for a tough couple of years now. And I think it's likely that Iran will go full steam ahead to try to build a nuclear weapon (unless the US and Israel really have destroyed this capability), something I don't trust them to do. Meanwhile - I'm also not sure where this all leaves the people of Iran and this popular uprising. The future will tell I suppose. But it seems to me like although their military might be badly damaged, Iran are in a stronger strategic position than when the war started. To the extent that they could plausibly claim victory if they see off the US without any regime change. Quote

Maybe they were initially, but, as I said above, his methods haven't helped his people in the main, so divergence is happening now. He definitely isn't the brightest, but I do believe there is cognitive decline too. Whether king Charles can kick his arse so to speak, either directly or by influence on others, I don't know. Worth a try though. Quote
Cheese Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Some of us have pointed out Trump for what he very obviously is from the start. Nice to see the rest of you catching up at last. Quote

I've no doubt he'll insult Charles in some way (whether he means to or not) - the entire state visit will be the ultimate in cringe If we cancelled the trip, that really would send him into a rage, I'd like to see that 😉 Quote

I'm sure there's only 2 left that are still happy to swill his diarrhea, and even one of them is waining a bit - occasionally pretending he disagrees with certain specific insults aimed at him and his comrades. Worth a try though. Thing is his definition of good for America , even if that bothers him it is the America he knows, so a world of billionaires. If the stock market is up and his mates get advance note of his declarations and top up their billions that is good. They do not give a fuck about the price of petrol, mortgage costs and the every day things that impact most people. The fact twats like Hesgeth try and wrap it all up the Christian flag just makes it more embarrassing. Quote

Constantly telling lies, fucking kids, giving money to the IRA.......it was all a long time ago, and is easily "Trumped" by the fact that George Clooney is perplexed these days Quote

Spider Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Bolty thinks everyone should trust the Trump process. Hip nerve pockets must still be happy paying over double what they were a few weeks back for fuel. Small price to pay for regime change and to cover up his rampant peadophilia. Quote
Sweep Posted April 3 Posted April 3 He's quite quiet on the subject these days, as he knows Trump is a wrong 'un. Sadly, he's of that age/era where you cannot every admit a mistake. In fact, you must double down each time you're challenged on it. Quote

Trump does seem to like the royals- I think in a way it's what he sees himself as- so there maybe an "in" for the king. Guess we'll see soon enough. Quote
