passmosster Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Always thought Phillips and Reidy were there until they could get Brown cheap. Phillips, Brown and Holdsworth played together for n years. Can't believe that they are not in some sort of contact. Just making sure Southend can't do us for tapping up. Quote
Naytch Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Brown as manager, Reid as assistant and Nolan as player-coach. That's what I want. Quote
gonzo Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 i'm calling bullshit due to the source, but http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/04/20/hold-to-9am-bolton-consider-home-grown-dream-team/?utm_medium=share%2Bbutton&utm_campaign=social%2Bmedia&utm_content=/en-gb/2016/04/20/hold-to-9am-bolton-consider-home-grown-dream-team/&utm_source=Twitter The fact he isn't even in the betting suggests this is bollocks too. Phil Brown still odds on. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Can't really see PR coming as anyone's assistant. Not really sure what his role is now. Quote
MalcolmW Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 I'd be very happy with Karl Robinson. In fact I was hoping for him last time around but he said he would not leave MK until he'd got them into the Championship. He did that last season, but they were much weaker this time. Why? Well, last season they had Dele Alli, sold to Spurs but loaned back. Quote
Ratwhite Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 This is a fucking shambles waiting to be a fuck-up. Don't like the look of KA, he looks looks a prick, and that's enough for me at the mo. Roll on May 8th when I'm coming back from Fulham with a hangover bigger than being Ben looking forward to August... Quote

superjohnmcginlay Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 n=0 Tis true, Holdsworth played while Brown was Assistant but they didnt play together Quote
enzo gambaro Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 I know. The original post said they played together for n years - in the case of Holdsworth/Brown, n=0. I reckon Phillips and Brown might have played together for a season. Quote

Guest Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 I'd be happy with Keith Hill. He was my shout prior to Lennon arriving so I'd be even more keen in League 1. Got him a week ago Fits the bill perfectly Quote
Youri McAnespie Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Fits the bill perfectly What bill? A A fat chewat B Too lazy and/or vain to shave his jowely chops C finds wearing a beanie hat with a suit the acceptable thing D Knows nowt E Collects Fred West memorabilia* F Is small time G closet Bolton Munchen H Has failed at all but one job I Was shite as a player H I would boo him from his unveilong photo in the BEN until his Christmas sacking Thosr boxes are ticked * this one may not be true I am 'high' on legal drugs in hospital atm (BADAIDS) Quote
BWFC_LOVE Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 I'll go with Youri here. Not interested in Keith Hill in the slightest. I care less about United than a lot of our fans, but then I've always lived under a Preston postcode. Albeit surrounded by Chorley United fans. I am however of the opinion that we wouldn't be in such a mess financially if we didn't have so many Bolton based United fans in the town and the surrounding area, while we're struggling for support. Apparently he comes under this umbrella so fuck him. Reckon he's only achieved what he has as a big fish in a small pond anyway. I would however take him over Carver, Nolan, Reid or Phillips. That isn't saying a great deal mind. Quote

That's good enough for me to say no, throw in the Lancashire under 21 final in about 88 when Bolton beat Blackburn at Ewood and Keith's Hills dad was after kicking off after the game in the fernhurst with our posse of Walkden whites because his lad was on the losing team and it's a double no from me. Keith Hill's Dad wanted to fight you and your mates because his son had just lost a football match? Am I the only one thinking there might be a little more to this story than you're letting on? ;-) Quote
gonzo Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Fuck me I'd have a paddy crerrand and Johnny Evans combo in charge and the men in black replacing the reebok rebels if it meant us getting back up again. Quote
Carlos Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 If Keith Hill is in the picture, odds will tumble as the family lump it on. Quote
ianofcleveleys Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Surprised John Sheridan doesn't seem to be getting any mentions (unless of course he's said he's not interested). Decent work first time round at Oldham then at Chesterfield, was doing well at Plymouth, but work he's done at Oldham and Newport stands out for me, shown he can get poor teams to stop losing and get themselves on an upward curve. Pretty much what we need I'd have thought. An ex Bolton player too. Quote
