Tonge moor green jacket Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 And Lawrie Wilson supposedly joining the ex-Bolton contingent at the DW Really? Done quite well this season. Quote
kent_white Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Big risk in my opinion. I know ZC has had a few games where he's not lived up to his potential - but in the same way that we've missed Ameobi's unpredictability - we'll miss Clough's. Unless this kid from Brum can open a few doors then we all of a sudden look like just a workmanlike side as opposed to a workmanlike side with a creative spark. That said - are we in a position to turn down serious money for anybody? Quote
deane koontz Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 You go away for a moment and everything happens Quote
Matt Lofthouse Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Made up with ALF coming back. Gutted losing Clough was always going to happen I suppose and he'll still be our top scorer this season. Best of luck to him. Great getting rid of Taylor and Proctor. Nowhere near good enough. Quote

Marc505 Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Interesting comment on the Iles blog (not sure if it was from him or a contributor) speculating about just how much Le Fondre is Parkinson's "choice". I guess insinuating that he could be more of a gift from the chairman to the fans Quote

Biggish Dave Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 We're too skint for gifts. ALF is a goal scorer and probably a real confidence player. He'll get good support from the fans, he'd better deliver the goals. Quote
Burndens Bogs Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 A bitter/ sweet window - get Le Fondre back, but sell our best player. The "massive bid" was 3m? wtf? Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 (edited) We need to get more players in now we've shifted Clough he's a big miss although he's not been in great form for a few weeks he's quality on his day. Failure to add any more players mean a mediocre window in my opinion. Edited January 31, 2017 by Mounts Kipper Quote
Carlos Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Fuck it, we are 3rd, we need to be top 2. Zach isn't unplayable, as he should be. Do you want an actual goalscorer over someone who doesn't look like scoring from open play? Worst case scenario we drop to 4th or 5th, current plan isn't working. Quote

Marc505 Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 I'd say one of our best assets rather than best player, if the last few weeks are anything to go by. We've signed three forward players in 2 days now though (albeit on loan) so I'm hoping and expecting that we're more of a threat going forward now than we were before.Like Radcliffe said, its the likes of Beevers and Spearing we MUST keep hold of in the next few hours Quote

Don't get that- why should he be any more unplayable than anyone else. Agree current plan isn't working, but that's up to the manager to sort. Perhaps he is with proctor and Taylor out but selling your top scorer and bringing in someone who arguably in poorer form is a massive risk. Quote
radcliffe white Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Shite window this so far. Time left I know. I'm normally the most positive. Do something BWFCmaybe not, but everyone was full of praise in the last window which the club did very well Quote
Kane57 Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 What's this for? It was the deal on the table from Portsmouth for Proctor which obviously didn't come to pass Quote
Carlos Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Don't get that- why should he be any more unplayable than anyone else. People think he's worth £10m, C Ronaldo was unplayable, Zach Clough is meh even in League One. Have a look, MKWays won't be in a frenzy because Zach won't be tearing them apart. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 maybe not, but everyone was full of praise in the last window which the club did very wellWe all thought the last window was good, but only beavers, Taylor, and ameobi until recently are pp signings that have played regularly. These new guys need to be effective. Horwich Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 We arent going up. £3m might save the club. Like selling the embankment to Normid Quote
